🖤 Celebrate Indigenous People & Stories 🖤

I recently read Never Whistle at Night: An Indigenous Dark Fiction Anthology, ed by Shane Hawk and Theodore C. Van Alst Jr. This was a buddy read with the best group of book friends @vimarobabooks @read.rad.read and @hauntedyamreads @everyones_mad_he.re. I am so glad they got me to finally pick this up off my shelves and dive in. The short stories contained within are written by some of the best fiction authors writing today. The whole collection was outstanding but just a few of my favorite stories were:

Kushtuka by Mathilda Zeller
White Hills by Rebecca Roanhorse
Navajos Don’t Wear Elk Teeth by Conley Lyons
Quantum by Nick Medina
Behind Colin’s Eyes by Shane Hawk
The Longest Street in the World by Theo G Van Alst
Capgras by Tommy Orange
Collections by Amber Blaser-Wardzala

This is just an incredible anthology and I co-read the stories with the multi narrator audiobook from @librofm, which was 🤌 Highly recommend a co-read on this one for a fantastic experience!

Because of this collection, I discovered several new to me authors that I want to read further. And the best part is that I can jump directly into Never Whistle at Night: Part II Back for Blood as it is out now with 21 new stories. I cannot wait!!

I am currently reading: Battle Royale, one the GOATS of modern dystopian fiction. Despite my undying love of The HG series and dystopian fiction in general I have actually never even thought to read this …oops
I am currently doing: A TON of stuff. within the last few months I have started collecting and playing Pokémon (both the card game and Pokémon GO). I have also continued to let MTG consume my thoughts. Llorwyn Eclipsed just came out and I am obsessed with the set
