We are so honored to have Chimney selected as @tatlerasia Best 100 Bars 2026✨

Since opening of 2019, Chimney has established ourselves as an intimate neighborhood cocktail bar located in Hangzhou.

Today the team is back in Hangzhou. It's going to be a busy Friday night. And just like every other nights, we make good drinks, but most importantly good friendships🌍

We received this award at the end of our "Lucky-7-Year Anniversary", entering our spectacular 8th year.

Thank you everyone for supporting us all along the way.
The BEST gift ever, and this one is for the team and friends!

Chimney’s annual team photo would look something like Storm II - one take, one wild ensemble, no one standing still.

Forecast called for a storm but it is smoke coming out of @chimney_hangzhou 💨

A group dance in full force, every night.

Meet the team⚡️

NOT THEIR FIRST TIME IN HANGZHOU. IT'S A COME BACK.

@shen.pdf celebrated Chimney‘s 5-year-birthday. 2 years later, he and @backdoorbodega had made it to the podium of World’s 50 Best Bars - Best Cocktail Menu ”Backdoor Bodega Guide To Penang“.

We got lucky. The best is yet to come, to come back to Chimney‘s Lucky 7-Year-Anniversary. Not only Shen, but also the ”doorman“ , aka supervisor of the backdoor, the boilermaker, the Buro bartender of the year @stayin6ftunder

Chimney - this old house - has always been about breaking the norm.

That is why we chose “Comfort Zone” as the theme for
CHIMNEY 7th Edition MENU, and divided the drinks into four
sections:

Inside, Edge, Outside and Return.
To recognize and settle,
to hesitate and lean,
to release and wander,
to reflect and arrive.

There is no right zone. Only where you want to be,
right now.

And remember:
the moment you step beyond one boundary,
you begin to draw a new one.

Your Comfort Zone, my friends.

Comfort Zone menu 【Inside】

Accessing drinks under “Inside” would be easy as breathing. Perhaps you have encountered this feeling a thousand time: you might call it nostalgia, or an instinct.

We’re wrapping up our Asia’s 50 Best Bars Week guest shift series with two exceptional bars from China—Chimney and FOO BAR.

Founded in Hangzhou, Chimney is more than just a neighbourhood cocktail bar—it’s a place where great drinks, great music, and even better conversations come together. Join Ellen & Vincy as they bring the bar’s warm hospitality, vibrant energy, and unforgettable cocktails to Quinary.

Joining them is Tiger from FOO BAR, where a farm-to-table philosophy meets contemporary cocktail culture. Inspired by local produce, art, and Chinese heritage, her creations celebrate seasonal ingredients while delivering layers of flavour and creativity in every glass.

Let’s raise one last glass together and toast to an incredible Asia’s 50 Best Bars Week. See you at the bar! 🥂

Infinite pride & gratitude

Today @chimney_hangzhou is noticed by the world.
On paper, it is #91 Asia’s @50bestbars 2026

To me, it is:
- The 1st cocktail bar I ever opened. (I originally wanted to do yakitori)
- The longest roller coaster I have ever ridden: 7 years and counting.
- The place that kidnapped me into becoming a bartender, then sent me back out into the world.

Getting a city like Hangzhou noticed is not easy.

Looking back over the past 7 years, we have simply kept moving and doing the same thing: deep storytelling through our drinks and believing that every tiny detail matters.

Then, somehow, the world looked over and said:
“Ohhh. There is a place in China called Hangzhou.”

What makes me even happier？
What this recognition can bring: a bigger horizon for our team, more attention for our industry, and a little more light on Hangzhou—the city we love, and the city that has shaped everything we do.

Thank you to the Chimney community, the bartending community, and everyone who has supported us along the way.

At this point, I think it may be a little difficult for me to switch back to yakitori.

Onwards and upwards!

Chimney, On My Way.
