I’m currently pretty obsessed with filling my living room with art and sculptures, as you might can tell.

This is not Scandinavian minimalism. My taste is too wide ranging and eclectic for me the be happy with minimalistic apartment decor.

*Before and After*

Children don’t experience space the way adults do. They feel it. So we leaned into colour and texture in this project.

• Deep red custom built-ins framing the doorway
• A built-in bed with integrated bookshelf. Books within arm’s reach, always
• A bespoke 2-part bed frame that’s not only beautiful and interesting to look at, but creates a soft, almost couch-like element for reading, resting, growing.
• Soft textiles layered in warm tones to add depth, tactility and comfort

Colours aren’t risky when intentional. They’re what makes the room memorable 🌈

Planning a children’s room or a family house? Save this for inspiration — or get in touch if you’d like help designing yours.

*Before and After*

Same room, reworked through scale, colour temperature, textile weight and focal points ❣️

Originally this living room felt a bit like it hadn’t quite decided who it wanted to be yet. Low contrast, limited material variation and no clear anchors meant the room lacked depth. Felt a bit temporary?

Through this transition, it shifted from feeling like ”we just moved in” to ”this is home”. 🤎

If your home feels like it hasn’t quite found itself yet, message me ”2026” to receive availability details 💫.

Want a room that feels warm without feeling heavy?

Some things to consider:

1. Tone-on-tone base: Warm neutrals layered instead of contrasted. It keeps the room calm whilst adding depth.

2. Pattern in smaller doses: Ottoman + cushions = a dose of personality without the overwhelm (perfect recipe for those just getting into color and pattern!)

3. Soft verticals: Full-height curtains make the room feel taller and grounded.

4. Stand-out pieces: Hunt second-hand for that one unique lamp, statue or table ✨

5. Custom furniture: Found the perfect chair but the fabric isn’t up to par? Reupholster to give it new life, and make it yours.

Save this as a reminder that subtle can still be strong 🤎

Children’s rooms deserve the same character, care and intention as the rest of the home.

In the two girls’ bedrooms in project Villa V, colour is not just an accent but a foundation. Custom built-ins were key: beds, storage and desks designed in colour rather than neutrals, allowing the joinery to become a part of the story. Beautiful knobs and handles were chosen carefully, small details that add tacticility and craft.

Patterns, textures and vintage elements work in harmony to create rooms that feel calm yet full of character. My personal favorites are the two-part bedframes created in fabrics from talented @studiocathynordstrom and @studiofournyc ✨

Save this to inspire children’s rooms that can grow with your child 🤎
