Maybe we groove a certain way or maybe it’s just crass but frankly, fuck it 🏋🏾‍♂️

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A gentle start to the month follows after weeks of partying, with returning heroes and new guests aplenty.

September kicks off with Shutter Rhythms’ Suffyan @s____ffyan, while NYC’s Marco Weibel @marcoweibel drops back in on his Asian tour.

From here on out, we’re deep diving into crates and sounds – brewer Afiq @vinylheavy, debutant Mich @michmix__ and Bussy Temple’s Bruce @howr0ng keep it flowing nicely. The Analog Vault’s Daniel K @insta_dan.jpg makes an anticipated appearance, while dancer Rio @illustrios, the Funk’s *Leland @lelnd, and Revision’s Josh @nothappycallpolice round off another electric roster.

If you haven’t heard, we’ve got some new cocktails and plates on the menu of late. Swing by, get loose, and don’t be a stranger.

*Leland’s set will be rescheduled to 25th due to a private event on 26th

a familiar figure in the form of @_hzqq_ is back in the pocket for us with a show that has a distinct direction, titled Inrain; a series exploring various edges of soundsystem music. with every guest bringing their own unique flavour, Inrain w/ HZQ is less concerned with genre and more interested in feeling. the warmth of old recordings at times, or distant melodies, maybe even blurred frequencies? we’ll find out monthly from now onwards. in all, something for the late hours 🕰️

for @_hzqq_’s first rodeo at the new spot, Vinylheavy steps into the fold for the second hour, all wax. a dedicated digger with a deep affection for hypnotic rhythms, disco grooves and sounds from across the malay archipelago and beyond, @vinylheavy / @a_fiq approaches selection with curiosity. best known as one half of @heavyitch alongside rare groove maestro @itch_sg, his record bag is guided by instinct, movement and a constant search for the next unexpected turn 🕯️

Inrain w/ HZQ & Vinylheavy is now live on our youtube, link is in the bio 🕴🏼

Four freshly minted Living Room tapes have arrived, with esteemed quality flowing throughout.

Afiq @vinylheavy serves a blend of gems on vinyl, traversing Thai Molam to Asian psychedelic and more. New York/Singapore’s Marco Weibel @marcoweibel guides a bustling Saturday evening – that was a party with friends aplenty.

Hong Kong native Ray Kong @raylmkong is no stranger to the room, leading with a menu of jazz and funk plates, hip-hop sides, and dance desserts to end. Finally, @hillsandeuropa’s DJ Junmo @thats_momo transports us to a merry evening in Seoul, an energetic, dopamine-filled 3-hour set from our South Korean guest shift night in January.

Relive the magic once more in our archives, or step in on Wednesdays and Saturdays to catch it live and direct. Listen on our Soundcloud, link in bio.

A new chapter at the bar begins at nightfall. Cue 𝓝𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽 𝓥𝓸𝓲𝓬𝓮𝓼 — evenings at the bar where the best and brightest in the groove guide us through dusk. Cocktails in hand, ears filled with magic, our senses nourished.

A serving of deep delights, our first 3 weeks are anchored by revered vinyl diggers in @vinylheavy, @raylmkong, and @tropikaglobal.

We invite Hills & Europa’s @thats_momo on controls for the first guest shift of the year, with compatriot Yuju @roundblueorange setting the tone for the night. Triple debuts in @nothappycallpolice, @bellezibub, and @maus_from_mars are accompanied by the return of @_natashahassan, @sivaneshpillai, and @lelnd, rounding off a strong month.

𝓝𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽 𝓥𝓸𝓲𝓬𝓮𝓼 pays homage to our beautiful, restored Altec A5 speakers. It’s an ode to the past as we look forward, a new beginning from where we left off — warm and delightful sounds, right here in our Living Room.

Ever wondered how music holds memory?

Listening Room is an intentional sound space where we drift through the eras of Malay music — from P. Ramlee & Friends to the vibrant Pop Yeh Yeh wave.

Facilitated by vinyl collectors + sound curators @vinylheavy and @itch_sg (together as @heavyitch), each session takes us through their personal crates: the stories behind each record, the eras they came from, and the voices that shaped our musical landscape.

This isn’t a party — it’s quiet appreciation, shared discovery, and good company.

TWO SESSIONS ONLY. 3-5PM.
Geylang Serai Heritage Gallery (Level 1, next to Penny University)

SESSION 1 (7 Dec): P. Ramlee & Friends
SESSION 2 (21 Dec): Pop Yeh Yeh

WHAT IF HERITAGE WAS YOURS TO REIMAGINE?🧚‍♂️

This November to December, step into SeniSomethingNew — a month-long activation at Geylang Serai Heritage Gallery where heritage meets new-school creativity 🌶️✨.

Think beatmaking with vintage Malay records, playing with heritage-inspired stamps, stitching stories into fabric, and turning flowers into memories.

It’s where heritage gets a remix — and you’re part of it.

Here’s what’s going down:
🎶 RENTAK BAHRU (NEW BEATS) - 29 NOV, 2-5 PM
Ever heard a P. Ramlee song and thought, “this would be a great hip-hop sample”?

Join Zero (@zerothememorythief) and Fauxe (@fauxewashere) flip nostalgic Malay tunes into new beats - live.

Got your own beats? We’re opening the floor to creators sampling Malay music from the 60s to 80s for a community listening session.

✋ STAMP IT, SERAI STYLE! - 6 DEC, 2 - 4 PM
Back in the day, Geylang Serai’s tradesmen had some of the coolest business cards around. Now it’s your turn: design your own business card with stamps, ink and imagination.

🪡 THREADS OF GEYLANG - 13 DEC, 2 – 4PM
Stitch, stamp or upcycle your old fabrics with patterns inspired by Geylang’s textile heritage. A little mending, a little making, all part of the story.

🌸 MEMORY GARDENS — 20 DEC, 2 – 4 PM
Bring your Geylang memories to life — literally. Using local florals and market finds, craft an arrangement and a zine that tells your story.

💿 LISTENING ROOM SESSIONS — 7 & 21 DEC, 2 – 4 PM
Dig through old Malay records and discover sounds that shaped Geylang’s music scene with local DJ & musician, @vinylheavy and @itch_sg (together making @heavyitch).

Session 1: P. Ramlee & Friends — the golden era of cinema sound.
Session 2: Pop Yeh Yeh — 60s Malay rock ‘n’ roll, reborn.

📍 Geylang Serai Heritage Gallery (Level 1, next to Penny University)
📅 29 Nov – 21 Dec, 10 AM - 6PM
🪩 Tuesdays - Sundays (Workshops every Saturday, Listening room sessions on 7th & 21st!)

📢📢 Mark your cals for the SILK ROAD SUPPER, where we’re teaming up with our friends from @fatprincesg for a little four-hands hang, serving up modern Middle Eastern—Burmese plates all night!

All available a la carte, the menu is about exploring the wide range of influences Burmese cuisine sees and a tracing of historical trade routes that connect our flavours to that of the Middle East.

To tie it all together, we’ve got none other than HEAVYITCH (@heavyitch) on the decks for an all-vinyl set of worldly grooves starting from 8pm. Trust @itch_sg & @vinylheavy to keep the party flowing and going ❤️

Bookings open now with the link in biooo for the 11 Oct! Please note that our regular a la carte menu will not be served on the day for dinner.
