I don’t really have the proper words to describe the intense energy that was exchanged this past week during my first residency period which happened to be in paris but I can say 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 that it was a process of transformation in many ways

anyway! these are some works I made with @violetheartdotcom , after some days spent meditating on the nature of dreams through a very expansive view predicated by @_____y__u__r__i_ facilitation in discussing freedom and separation and collective imagination (shout out deleuze)

𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘵 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘮 is a set of 3 large cotton tapestries manipulated using a controlled rusting technique and cyanotype process combining automatic writing seeded from dreams and spliced together with personal photographs and horse/animal motifs.

𝘈𝘥𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘰 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘈𝘯𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘴 is a video (edited by Vivi) projected through transparent iridescent layers of fabric and composed of found archive footage and camcorder videos filmed during the residency period which explores the act of becoming animal through dreams.

𝘊𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘔𝘺 𝘈𝘴𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 is a set of 5 wax pastel drawings which, like dreams, each uses a visual memory as a substrate for expanding one’s inner world into something more fantastical and collective

very grateful to the space and the artists who pushed themselves within it and the curators who extended their knowledge and hearts to me

bisous 🤍
