I don’t often share full video projects. Looking back on the year, I’m reminded that this business has never really been about the work alone. It’s been shaped by the people I’ve met, the stories they’ve trusted me to tell, and the moments shared along the way. From small businesses and creative minds, to early mornings running, personal growth, and life experiences that quietly change you. It all feeds into the way I see the world and the way I work. Sometimes a flavour combination, simply… makes sense. Crispy bacon, juicy tomatoes and fresh lettuce, layered between two fresh slabs of bread. The bacon’s salty, smoky power is perfectly complemented by the sweetness and acidity of the tomatoes, as well as the freshness of the lettuce. A BLT is a satisfying, balanced sandwich. Strap yourself in for an analogy, bucko! A brand, website and communication strategy should complement each other. If one is missing, or a bit ‘off’, it can be off-putting to consumers—taste bitter if you will? There is more than one way to slice a sandwich, but a cohesive brand/web/comms system is a tried and tested way to build trust and credibility, which is the foundation* for long-term success. Tom and I have worked together on a few projects—I handle the brand identity work, he bosses the website/online presence, and we both work with the client to develop the communication strategy. We’ve both been doing this for about 15 years, and each delivered hundreds of projects. We’ve worked with great and less great colleagues, so we know when it works. A shared vision that is a (probably unhealthy) passion for producing value-based results for the client and their business goals. So why not make it easier for people to source (sauce?) this effective partnership? We have done, and BLT is it. The only way it could be better is if Tom changed the name of VisionaryGrid to Cookies. It’s even a web-based pun. But he wouldn’t do that, would he? Following @visionarygrid.studio Tom Declat’s lovely post this morning on linkedin, I was reminded that I really should do a little round-up of the @greenhousejersey panel I was invited to take part in a couple of weeks ago! Sorry for the delay - life’s been full - Easter holiday chaos (parents, am I right‽), the bitter sweet bank holiday disruptions to workload management and childcare, bubbling new business plans, newly diagnosed diabetic cats... you get it 💥)...
