Moments from the studio.

Filming Zohra Opoku (@zohraopoku) wasn’t about directing — it was about watching. We followed her hands, her process, the rhythm of the work. The camera stayed back and let her move.

From our studio visit in Accra for @newafricaculturalinitiative NACI’s Preserving Legacies – Creative Futures workshop led by NACI Director (@orlandofficialle).

Bez zrozumienia przeszłości nie ma przyszłości - właśnie dlatego wsparliśmy swoim grantem działalność Ghańskiej fundacji @si.hene , która zajmuje się archiwami królewskimi i wspólnotowymi, historią mówioną, dokumentacją kultury i badaniami, a do tego prowadzi stypendia, wystawy, warsztaty i zasoby cyfrowe. Bo dbanie o dziedzictwo jest ważnym elementem budowania i utrzymywania tożsamości narodowej 🇬🇭

Without understanding the past, there is no future. That’s why we supported the work of the Ghanaian foundation @si.hene with a grant. Si Hene looks after royal and community archives, oral history, cultural documentation and research, and also runs fellowships, exhibitions, workshops and digital resources. Caring for heritage is an important part of building and sustaining national identity 🇬🇭

Les Rencontres d’Arles!!🇫🇷✨🇬🇭 | @rencontresarles

This all started as a workshop with Damarice Amao and Cécile Nedelec last November at @si.hene in Ghana sitting together with the community, going through the archive, talking through what memories they held. To now stand inside the deep research and curation of Ghana! Rêver l’indépendance, 1957–1976 at the Palais de l’Archevêché, as part of Les Rencontres d’Arles 2026, is something I don’t take lightly, with my own piece, The Rhythm of Her Becoming, included in the show.

Curated by @damariceamao , the exhibition traces the visual world Ghana built for itself in the first two decades after independence in 1957, through photobooks, magazines, postcards, and print culture, bringing together historic voices like James Barnor, Felicia Abban, Willis E. Bell, and Paul Strand alongside a contemporary generation of Ghanaian image-makers. It’s an honor beyond words to be part of that lineage.

I had the honor of joining the “Emancipation: The Image as a Partner?” round table at Cour Fanton — led by photography historian @margaux.lavernhe, alongside @kwame_crentsil and @carlosidun !!

Rêver, c’est déjà commencer. 🤍

Grateful for every conversation, every person who stopped to really look, and everyone who made this feel like home. Can’t wait to share the rest of this experience with you all. 🇬🇭

Ghana! Dreaming Independence (1957–1976) is now open at @rencontresarles .

Last November, we gathered at Si Hene in Accra for The Reading Room — a workshop where archivists, artists, curators and community members sat with Ghana’s independence-era photographic archive and spoke freely about what they saw, referencing two books — Paul Strand’s Ghana: An African Portrait and The Roadmakers by Willis Bell and Efua Sutherland.

Swipe through to hear them.

ART RESIDENCY: KWAKU YARO & JAMES MISHIO LOFT ART GALLERY.

Two of ours.

We’re proud to share that @kwaku_yaro and @james.mishio have joined @loftartgallery’s new artist residency programme in Marrakech, a four-month period conceived as a space for research, dialogue, and experimentation. The joint residency will be accompanied by two solo exhibitions in the gallery’s spaces later in 2026.

The programme brings together international perspectives within the Moroccan context, creating conditions for genuine exchange between artists, materials, and local histories. It’s exactly the kind of space we believe artists deserve.

We’ll be watching, cheering, and sharing the journey. An exhibition of outcomes is coming later this year, so stay close. 🇲🇦 🇬🇭

There is room to interpret, room to speak, and room to challenge.

Five days inside the 61st Venice Biennale — what I saw, what I made, and what I wish I had done differently.
