🍄 New trader – Broken Pier Candles

We’re delighted to welcome Broken Pier Candles to Tarrant Square Market for the very first time this Saturday.

Inspired by Brighton & Hove, Broken Pier Candles creates beautiful artisan natural wax candles, hand-poured in small batches.

Their candles are made using carefully blended soy and coconut or soy and vegetable wax, with no added colours or petroleum derivatives — keeping things simple, natural and beautifully crafted.

And there’s something rather special about their collection too, with a love of vintage teacups, upcycling and sustainable candle making, alongside seasonal scents perfect for this time of year. 🍂

With autumn well and truly here and cosy evenings setting in, we think they’re going to be a lovely addition to this Saturday’s market.

Come along, meet the maker, discover the different fragrances and give our newest independent trader a warm Arundel welcome. 🕯️🍄

📍 Tarrant Square, Arundel
📅 Saturday 24th October

Supporting independent & local businesses — one Saturday at a time. ❤️

Rainy autumn days, cosy interiors and a little countryside luxury. We think we’ve found just the place. 🍂

Welcome to THE PIG in the South Downs, a beautiful hotel and restaurant tucked away in the little hamlet of Madehurst, just a few miles from Arundel.

With beautifully designed rooms, peaceful surroundings and everything you need to settle in and switch off, it’s somewhere you can really make yourself at home for a night or two.
And the beauty of staying here? You can make your getaway entirely your own.

If slowing down is on the agenda, spend your days enjoying everything THE PIG has to offer. Wander through the walled Kitchen Garden, enjoy a treatment in the Potting Sheds, discover the vineyard or settle in for a long, leisurely lunch.

The restaurant’s celebrated 25-mile menu puts seasonal, locally sourced ingredients at the heart of the experience, with plenty coming straight from the garden itself.

Or, if you’re someone who loves to get out and explore, you’ve got the South Downs on your doorstep and the historic streets, independent shops and cafés of Arundel just a short journey away.

Then, when you’ve had your fill of exploring, return to the warmth and tranquillity of THE PIG for a delicious dinner, a glass of Sussex wine and a wonderfully comfortable night’s sleep 🐖

Whether your idea of a perfect mini-break involves doing very little or discovering somewhere new, this is a lovely place to call home for a few days.

Discover more about THE PIG in the South Downs and plan your next countryside escape via @the_pig_hotels.

🍂 ARUNDEL FARMERS’ MARKET | OCTOBER RECAP 🎃

Autumn's crisp air, the last of the summer sunshine and a wonderful day in the heart of Arundel!

What a fantastic October Farmers’ Market we had yesterday!

With 63 stalls spread across our beautiful historic town, we welcomed familiar faces, new trader locations and the return of some of our much-loved seasonal traders.

It was lovely to welcome back Noble & Stace with their delicious artisan chocolates and Rosie Sue with beautiful winter florals, bringing a little extra seasonal charm to the market. 🍂

We've received some fantastic feedback from traders and visitors, with several traders selling out and even pre-orders already being taken for next month's Farmers’ Market! That's exactly the kind of support we love to see for our independent producers and small businesses.

We also had a few cheeky visits from some wonderful social media bloggers and local reviewers, who have been sharing their experiences of our market. Please do take a moment to have a read, give their posts a like and return the support. It's lovely to see Arundel being celebrated by others!

💚 A little personal thank you from me...

As I settle into my new role as Market Manager, I want to give a huge shout-out to our Arundel Farmers’ Market team and everyone involved behind the scenes.

From the early morning preparations to the final clear-down, so much hard work goes into making the day run smoothly, and I really do appreciate everyone's efforts.

Even with a rather **lost and lonely Tesla** making an unexpected appearance where it shouldn't have been! 🤷🏻‍♀️ There's never a dull moment on market day!

And, of course, a massive thank you to our traders, local businesses, residents and visitors for continuing to support our wonderful market.

🌿 NEXT STOP — NOVEMBER FARMERS’ MARKET!

📅 Saturday 21st November

With the seasons changing and Christmas just around the corner, our November market promises more wonderful producers, seasonal flavours, winter favourites and plenty of inspiration for your festive shopping.

Pop the date in your diary, tell your friends and bring your shopping bags

🍂 Autumn in Arundel. Our favourite season! 🍁

Although, to be fair, we seem to say that about every season here! Just when we think this little corner of Sussex cannot get any more beautiful, the next season comes along and gives us a whole new reason to fall in love with it. ❤️

Yesterday was one of those perfect autumn mornings. A slight chill in the air, glorious sunshine, and @arundel_farmers_market absolutely buzzing with life. ☀️

People enjoying coffee in the sunshine, visitors exploring the town, familiar faces everywhere, friends and neighbours catching up, and wonderful local businesses showcasing the very best of what this area has to offer.

We recently recorded a fascinating interview with a hugely experienced local chef (coming soon to the @visitarundel Podcast 🎙️) who told us that autumn is one of his favourite times of year for buying local produce. So naturally, we took his advice and filled our baskets with some beautiful seasonal fruit and vegetables!

Of course, no farmers market visit would be complete without a few indulgences. My little tradition of picking up a sfogliatella from @sitaliadeli continues, and a warm pitta filled with grilled wild mushrooms, truffle mayonnaise and cheese was quite possibly the perfect breakfast for a crisp autumn morning. 😋

And perhaps the loveliest thing of all? Now that we are opening the doors at Sefton Place, we get to share all of this with our guests.

The wonderful people, the independent businesses, the local food, the changing seasons and the simple pleasure of a sunny Saturday morning in a beautiful Sussex market town.

This is the Arundel we have fallen in love with, and we cannot wait for our guests to fall in love with it too. 💚
