🏗️ Cities change. But who makes the decisions, and who lives with them?

North East based street photographer Jan Panke has been capturing visitors (including some of the iconic photographers whose work is in the exhibition) exploring "Under Development: What Happens When Cities Change?" at Newcastle Contemporary Arts.

Bringing together over 50 years of documentary photography from the AmberSide Collection and Four Corners Archive, looking at Tyneside and East London. The exhibition looks at the promises of regeneration, the realities of housing and redevelopment, and the communities who have challenged and shaped these changes.

There's plenty to see, question and talk about. If you haven't visited yet, come and take a look!

📍 Newcastle Contemporary Arts (NCA), High Bridge Works, Newcastle
📅 Until 29 November | Thurs–Sat, 12–5pm
🎟️ Free entry

📣 We are delighted to announce that Shame Parade will return to Scotland, as part of a UK tour supported by Art Fund, opening the 26th year of visual arts programming at Mount Stuart on 17 April 2027.

Alongside the homecoming exhibition, a satellite exhibition of expanded material from Shame Parade will travel across Scotland with the Travelling Gallery March to June 2027 and in summer 2027 the Travelling Gallery will host an exhibition of responses to Venice from participants of the Scotland + Venice Professional Development Programme.

Following its domestic debut on the Isle of Bute, artworks from Shame Parade will travel to Kunsthall Trondheim in October 2027, where they will be shown with a suite of new works in a distinct presentation, before returning for the UK tour supported by Art Fund. Venues will include Newcastle Contemporary Arts and Inverness Museum and Art Gallery.

Bugarin + Castle’s Shame Parade curated by Mount Stuart continues in Venice until the close of the 61st International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia on 22 November 2026.
