Had to get one more round in before Fall weather arrives for an extended stay starting tomorrow. @golfclubatredrock was in fantastic condition and made for a very enjoyable round with perfect weather today.
And this was the course that @lukesavage.13 played as part of his 50 rounds of golf on 50 different courses in 50 different states. Give his page a follow and consider supporting his cause as he barnstorms across the USA raising money for @playyellow4kids and @childrensmiraclenetwork with a goal of $1MM.

Nashville is cute, but have you considered South Dakota for your next girls trip? 🤠

A little Wild West, a lot of laughs, and some of my favorite girls in one of my favorite places on earth.

We spent the weekend exploring the Black Hills, getting into trouble in Deadwood, shopping, sipping cocktails, and dancing under the South Dakota sky. And of course, making memories back at our ranch. 🤎

There’s something so special about sharing a place you love with your favorite people.

🌵 COMMENT “WILD” and I’ll DM you our full South Dakota girls trip itinerary!

Save this for your next girls trip. Trust me, the Wild West might surprise you! 🥂

If You Get Caught Between the Moon and the Mushroom and Jupiter: In the early hours of October 6, the Moon and Jupiter (and I think some other planets too!) appeared above the Toadstool Mushroom at Badlands National Park in South Dakota. The foreground was shot at 14mm with two lanterns for accent with the Moon and Jupiter at 70mm directly overhead.

Looks like we have at least one more week of consistent, gorgeous fall riding here in the Black Hills worthy of bringing back this footage from the same time last year.

Needles Highway -> Custer Wildlife Loop -> Iron Mountain Road -> Mount Rushmore

Peak cycling season. **chef’s kiss**

Core Work: The Milky Way Galactic Core viewing season comes to an end in the first half of October, so I was fortunate to have a few clear nights last week to indulge in a little "core" work. Here's one from the Badlands in South Dakota.

Don't sleep on Rap City! Absolutely blown away by the fall scene in SoDak. The Black Hills have got to be one of the most underrated places in the United States. What a gem! @travelsouthdakota @visitrapidcity

One of my favorite things about traveling through Southwestern Europe is the coffee. And the only place back home I’ve found that can compare is @speedgoatexpresscoffeeco in Rapid City.

Looking forward to stopping in for a café as soon as I get back to the states! I’d encourage you to do the same.

Use code UNDERCOVER DIRTBAGS at checkout. They’ll have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about, but you’ll probably get a smile out of it. And maybe a “what?” look. Either way, you’re getting a darn good espresso. 😂☕️

Landlocked? Yes. Short on shoreline? Apparently not. A big reason is Lake Oahe, a 231-mile-long reservoir along the Missouri River, alongside the state’s many other lakes, reservoirs and tributaries.

Every August, hundreds of thousands of riders descend on the small Black Hills town of Sturgis. First held in 1938, the rally brings a week of rides, races, music and events.

More than 1,500 bison roam @custerstateparksd’s 71,000 acres. Drive the 18-mile Wildlife Loop for a chance to spot them alongside pronghorn, elk and other wildlife.

Palisades State Park’s pink and red Sioux Quartzite is around 2 billion years old. Its dramatic cliffs rise up to 50 feet above Split Rock Creek and are also popular with climbers.

Fossils reveal that ancient three-toed horses, saber-toothed cats and rhino-like mammals once lived here. Today, the Badlands are one of the world’s richest mammal fossil beds.

Find breweries across the state, including @crowpeakbrewing and @sawyerbrewingco in Spearfish, @lostcabinbeer in Rapid City and Fernson in Sioux Falls.

Consider your road trip refreshment sorted.

Black Elk Peak rises 7,242 feet above sea level. Hike to the historic fire lookout at the summit for panoramic views across the Black Hills.

South Dakota was recently ranked the #1 U.S. state for stargazing, thanks to its dark skies, low light pollution and wide-open landscapes. Bundle up and head outside after dark for some seriously impressive views of the night sky.
