Hi! I’m Naomi Amarger @naomiamarger and I’m super honored to host the collective’s account for the week to come! I’m French, member of the AFC @afc_events_ @femmesalacamera and @bafta Connect. Earlier this year I was accepted into @berlinaletalents so I’m happy to talk about the program if someone is interested in applying in the future! I weirdly started in the film industry as an actress, and met amazing cinematographers who inspired me to learn their craft. I studied at @ens_louislumiere in Paris, trained at @panavisionofficial in New York, then started working as a camera assistant while still shooting (very) small projects as a cinematographer on the side. Four years ago, a director trusted me to shoot my first feature, kickstarting my career. I now live between Paris and New York (I work in the US with an O1-B visa, happy to talk about that as well) and mainly shoot narrative features, sometimes documentaries, sometimes short films, very rarely commercials - not because I don’t want to, I just don’t have a foot in this world (yet!) Starting tomorrow I will share images of a few projects, focusing on different aspects of the process… let me know if there’s anything you’d like to discuss while I’m here!
