"For Bol Bol Rani I wanted the film to feel like one cohesive cinematic world while giving each of its four narratives a distinct visual identity. The main investigative narrative was shot in a 2:1 aspect ratio. In contrast, the three individual stories were captured Open Gate in a 3:2 aspect ratio because I wanted them to feel almost like moving paintings, each with its own distinct visual language, color palette, lighting philosophy, and camera movement.

The ALEXA Mini LF gave me the confidence to embrace this approach. Its exceptional dynamic range, natural color rendition, and large-format sensor provided the flexibility to move between these distinct visual worlds while maintaining a cohesive cinematic image throughout the film. The ALEXA Mini LF delivered beautiful texture, rich skin tones, and a gentle, organic warmth that complemented the painterly aesthetic I envisioned."

Cinematographer Vivian Pullan on shooting the Marathi-language feature Bol Bol Rani with his own ALEXA Mini LF, acquired through the ARRI Certified Pre-Owned program.
