![The Monsters I Live With was more than an exhibition — it was a dialogue between design, art, and the quiet layers of everyday life.
In renovating this 140 sqm mixed-use space above @proveleggiosathens , we sought continuity — between past and present, the restaurant below and the newly activated floor above.
The building, now marked by the mural of @pavlostsakonas , offered @trailpractice a new architectural presence in Kerameikos — and a place for ideas to breathe.
Grateful to everyone who became part of this first moment.

![“Sphinxes” is a sculptural chair inspired by a nested story, a dream referred in my story 'Arrhythmia', a narrative I wrote about M., a semi-fictional character that I created last year. The design draws from a dream M. experiences in the story while intoxicated, invoking the two riddles of the Sphinx. The first, famously answered by Oedipus, points to the human, the one who sits at the centre of the piece. The second, less well known, speaks of two sisters who give birth to each other: Day and Night.
The viewer stands between these two opposites, reflected under the gaze of sphinxes’ eyes. The viewer becomes the answer, framed by the mirrored sphinxes, hybrid forms of animals, plants, and symbols from myth.
Materials: Solid wood, plywood, stainless steel
Part of the exhibition: "The Monsters I Live With," curated by Vasiliki-Maria Plavou.
On the first floor of Proveleggios, until September 28, 2025
The exhibition invites six designers to a common place of experimentation: from myth to form, from tradition to contemporary interpretation. Here, design does not merely serve functionality, it becomes a tool for cultural reflection and a method for reappropriating a universal narrative.
Using contemporary digital tools as well as manual skills, the artists Astronauts (Danae Dasyra & Joe Bradford) @madebyastronauts, Panos Profitis @panosprofitis in collaboration with Ludd @ludd_lab, Dimitris Tampakis @tampakis.dimitris, Niki Danae Chania @niki__danai, and Despoina Charitonidi @despina_charitonidi create a narrative for today, reactivating material, traditional techniques, and symbolism.
Design is presented as a language of communication with a strong emotional tone, becoming an act of resistance and reconnection with memory, the body, and the collective imagination. It invites you.
The exhibition The Monsters I Live With is an initiative of TRAIL [practice] and is hosted by the restaurant PROVELEGGIOΣ.
