And just like that my 4th @officialsacopa comes to a close!
At the end of last year I made the decision to change coaches and today was testament that a fresh start often brings new achievements.

I entered half the amount of items and I only did 1 duet and 19 solo acts.

I am so proud to say I received 18 solo medals and 1 for the duet.
My biggest surprise was being awarded the male overall dancer in the age 9-12 category, as well as achieving 2 gold medals in vocals for the first time in 3 years.

My total medal tally across acting, singing, dancing and modeling is 19 - 6 gold, 9 silver and 4 bronze.

I am super proud of myself and my achievements and am looking forward to a little rest until I step onto the stage as part of the ensemble cast in Oliver in January.

Eyeline - allows the audience to see what you’re communicating 👀

This is a technical note that director Mairzee Almas (Shadow and Bone, Jessica Jones) drilled into me — and it is so important for your coverage (when they shoot your face for dialogue)

What’s really happening is this:

The further your eyeline is away from camera the more white of your eye people see, and less of your beautiful subtext.

By focusing on the eye closest to camera, it’s subtle, but you’re allowing the camera to fully capture it.

Have you ever noticed this in your own tapes? 🎬 or gotten this note during filming?

I’m not saying be “Shut up and just be grateful” 🤕

I’m saying complaining about being on set on a call day about waiting, is unprofessional and not something you want production to hear. 😇

This is a gentle reminder for you or other actors on set getting frustrated that: “Hurry up and wait” is the name of the game.
It’s up to YOU to try and utilise that time to the best of your abilities - we often feel there’s not enough hours in a day to do all the things we want. You’re allowed (no ENCOURAGED) to bring your hobbies/other work with you.

This waiting time is also really a gift to spend more time with your acting material that’s just as much part of the job.

🥂Here’s to cultivating better energy on set together!
