Wojtek Blecharz is one of the most awaited artists for this year’s JEMP ⚡️He is a pioneer in the realms of merging music, technology and site-specific installation and one of today’s most sought-after and radical composers. His opera-installations make for one of the most exciting and memorable musical experiences you can imagine. He is known for creating ambitious, truly ground-breaking and innovative work. 💣⚡️
JEMP will mark his FIRST LONDON APPEARANCE to present the world premiere of the THREE SOUND SCULPTURES FOR CHOIR commissioned by Arts Territory and delivered in collaboration with Vocal Constructivists and curator Kasia Sobucka. ⚡️
💣
⚡️
Wojtek is an oboist and a composer born in 1981 in Gdynia. He graduated with honors from Frederic Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw (Master of Arts) and in 2015 received a Ph. D. in music composition at University of California San Diego. In 2012, he was nominated for one of the most prestigious awards recognising outstanding achievements for Polish artists; Politykas “Passport” in the classical music category. He received the award for best contemporary performance of Schubert romantic Composition for 12 performers and string quartet, directed by Magda Szpecht. In 2017, he received a Siemens Foundation Scholarship to compose other states horizon for 16 performers and 16 wireless speakers for Collegium Novum in Zurich. ⚡️
💣
⚡️
No need to say that his concert on the 15th December at Swiss Chuch is a MUST!!!

Thank you to all of the Fellows and Friends of Civitella that joined us for last night’s Open Gallery featuring work from Group 4’s visual artists, as well as presentations from current Fellows Margarita Mateo Palmer and Portia Munson. What a perfect way to wrap the 2019 season.
