Engineering demands practical solutions and innovation. But it’s also about how you connect, communicate, and work with others to build what comes next.💯

This summer, high school juniors and seniors participating in the Center for Engineering Excellence and Discovery’s (CEED) summer programs discovered new ways to connect engineering concepts with others through a series of applied theatre workshops with CCS.

Students explored the "why" behind their interest in engineering while they practiced taking risks, communicating across differences, and collaborating in new ways.

We loved seeing these students grow in courage and in skills that will serve them as engineers — and as teammates, communicators, and future leaders! 🧡 💫

A machine is now helping score your child’s college essay, and Virginia Tech is not the only school doing it. UNC has read essays this way for years, and more universities are quietly building their own versions. Swipe through for how it actually works, and why a specific, true story is the one thing these readers cannot overlook. Save this for when your child starts their essays, and tell us which school we should break down next.

Last week, we invited around 150 students to Virginia Tech’s campus to celebrate #nationalbiomechanicsday ! Students were engaged in interactive, hands-on tours with various labs led by @vt_engineering students and faculty. At the Granata Lab, we value sharing our work with the local community, working to inspire the next generation of biomechanists. Ten years & counting of NBD and we couldn’t be prouder to be a part of it all! 🦾👣🔬🩻

Stay tuned to get a peek into the cool activities students got involved in!
