Nick Fleischman graduated in just three years, but he isn't quite ready to call it quits. Nick recently wrapped up his Economics degree with a MEDS option ahead of schedule, but he also got a head start on our Accelerated MA program. This summer he's interning at the @richmondfed before he heads back to Blacksburg for one more year to finish up his master's.

Before all of that, he found time to be an officer in @economicsclubvt, an intern with @hokiesports,an Economics Fellow, a peer mentor for FYE, and even squeezed in a study abroad trip with @vteconabroad. He also excelled in his classes. His favorite? Game Theory with Dr. Bahel.

Some people make the most of four years. Nick made the most of three, and then some. We're so proud of you!

🎉 Huge congratulations to Dr. T on winning the 2026 Sporn Award for Excellence in Teaching Introductory Subjects!

This award is nominated and selected by undergraduate students, which means this recognition comes straight from the people who know her teaching best.

Dr. T has transformed the first-year experience in our department and inspires students to see themselves as economists from day one.

We're so proud and so lucky to have her!
