Over the course of this semester, a group of Badgers and I have had the opportunity to join the greater Mobile community at St. Ignatius with Men of St. Joseph.

I have never felt more alive and more ready to run through a wall than I do with this group of men.

This morning, I had the opportunity to share John 14:1–12.

After washing the feet of the Apostles, after betrayal and denial, and knowing the Cross was coming, Jesus still chose to comfort on the eve of His greatest sacrifice.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled.”

This is our strength. This is our truth.

It does not mean life is easy or that it’s all sunshine and rainbows.

It means we do not have to stay troubled.

We move forward!

It’s not through the absence of fear, but through the presence of belief.

Belief that the Holy Spirit is with us and working through us daily. Guiding us. Calling us to greater works.

It’s beautiful to see that these words exist only because Philip and Thomas were humble enough to ask a couple questions.

Questions led to truth.

Truth led to one of the greatest statements ever spoken:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life.”

Choose humility.
Choose to ask questions!

In the midst of His suffering, He comforts others. That is the standard Christ gives us.

So the call is clear, here:

Choose to serve.
Choose to comfort others.
Choose to carry your cross.
Choose humility over ego.
Choose to glorify Him in everything you do.

He is the way when you feel lost.
The truth when things feel unclear.
The life everything else points toward.

In all that we do, may God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, the courage to change the things we can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

St. Joseph, Terror of Demons, pray for us ✝️

Forever grateful to this group & especially to Brother Blank for guiding me along the way!

Join us next time - Tuesday @ 7am at St. Ignatius!

“𝑮𝒐 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒐𝒏 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒆.” – 𝐒𝐭. 𝐈𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐨𝐲𝐨𝐥𝐚

These past three years have been incredibly special. Serving in SGA leadership here at @springhill_college has been one of the greatest honors of my time on the Hill. To work alongside students who care deeply about this community and who continually strive to make our campus better has been a true blessing.

@real_mohammed_shc and I are incredibly grateful to now pass the torch onward and upward to the 𝟏𝟎𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐆𝐀 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, led by 𝐓𝐨𝐛𝐚 𝐑𝐢𝐨𝐬 and 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐧 – @rios.patton.sga

Congratulations as well to our newly elected Senators: 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐣 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞, 𝐖𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧, 𝐀𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐨-𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐳, 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐓𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐢, 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐧𝐞𝐲, 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐢 𝐇𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐥, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧

A special thank you to the 𝟏𝟎𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐦𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 - @cmhemstreet8 - who helped make this experience as meaningful and memorable as it was.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭.

I would also like to leave you with words that deeply resonated with me from your newly elected Student Body President:

“𝑻𝒓𝒖𝒍𝒚 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓. 𝑩𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒆𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅.”
— 𝐓𝐨𝐛𝐚 𝐑𝐢𝐨𝐬

And as Mo always reminds us:

“𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅.”

“Be stubborn, be authentically stubborn, be unapologetically stubborn, be so insufferably stubborn to speak to the mountains of injustice and oppression, until they have no choice but to listen.”

𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝑨 𝑩𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑯𝒊𝒍𝒍, 𝑨 𝑩𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑻𝒐𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒘 💜🌄

Incredibly proud of what this group and this student body stand for.

We’ve already accomplished tremendous things together, but above all, it’s the heart and spirit that brought this Magis into fruition—gifts and fruits of the Lord Himself.

The Hill stands taller because of you and your faith!

The best is yet to come.

Ad maiorem Dei gloriam!
