You don’t have to leave Indiana to have an epic elopement 🥾✨🤘🏽

We’re talking towering trees, winding trails through canyons, ladders to climb and an A-frame tucked away in the woods that looks like it belongs in the Pacific Northwest.

Yep. All in📍Indiana.

When most people think about adventure elopements, they picture traveling across the country to somewhere like Colorado, Oregon or Washington. And while we’re always down for an adventure out west, some pretty incredible locations might be closer to home than you’d expect.

And finding those locations? That’s exactly what we’re here for ⬇️

We found both of these spots for our couple, giving them the opportunity to explore an epic state park and exchange letters at a nearby A-frame, all without leaving Indiana.

And their adventure didn’t end after the hike through the canyon. They wrapped up the day together by getting matching tattoos in our mobile tattoo studio and celebrating together in the hot tub. Because why should your wedding day be limited to just a ceremony, when you can fill it with bucket-list experiences you’ll be talking about for the rest of your life?

These two — and their little one — explored Turkey Run State Park (@parkecountyin ) on their wedding day, and it was perfect because it was theirs. 🤍

They prioritized their one-year-old’s comfort over perfection and chose rainbow fleece footie pajamas because they knew she’d be happiest that way. And you know what? They still had the best day.

So here’s your reminder: your wedding day can be whatever the heck you want it to be.

Barefoot in the woods. Hiking trails with your toddler. No traditions. All the traditions. A big party or just the two of you.

Spring break trip idea around Indiana

Pack a bag with plenty of extra clothes and layers and hit the trails! Hiking the trails without the sweat and bugs seems like a win to me! The Rockville area is so quaint and if you’re looking for more food options, Greencastle is only 20 minutes away with even more delicious restaurants.

A quick getaway in Rockville, Indiana! #hosted

The kids were off for Presidents’ Day so we made it a quick family getaway and it was great to purposefully spend down time together—games in an igloo, snacks and a movie, play in the hot tub and a little hike!

We stayed at the Walker Getaway! This is our second stay here as a family but for the last two years, I’ve done a winter getaway bookclub girls trip.

And it’s the perfect setup for both!

The A-frame house is beautifully redone to create a welcoming retreat!

It’s located about 1.5 miles from Raccoon Lake State Park and about 10 miles from downtown Rockville and is just over an hour from Indianapolis!

The inside is a peaceful space that has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one has a tub) and sleeps 6 comfortably. They also provide a pack n play!

Just steps from the back porch is a hot tub, fire pit, picnic table and two observation decks. And they added an igloo! Which was so fun!

The A-frame cabin sits on five acres, so you get the best of both worlds—you can be in nature but have the luxury of a comfy bed and hot shower. And you’re minutes away from Raccoon lake for boating or swimming in the warmer months or head into Rockville for shops and a bite to eat.
