A quick getaway in Rockville, Indiana! #hosted

The kids were off for Presidents’ Day so we made it a quick family getaway and it was great to purposefully spend down time together—games in an igloo, snacks and a movie, play in the hot tub and a little hike!

We stayed at the Walker Getaway! This is our second stay here as a family but for the last two years, I’ve done a winter getaway bookclub girls trip.

And it’s the perfect setup for both!

The A-frame house is beautifully redone to create a welcoming retreat!

It’s located about 1.5 miles from Raccoon Lake State Park and about 10 miles from downtown Rockville and is just over an hour from Indianapolis!

The inside is a peaceful space that has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one has a tub) and sleeps 6 comfortably. They also provide a pack n play!

Just steps from the back porch is a hot tub, fire pit, picnic table and two observation decks. And they added an igloo! Which was so fun!

The A-frame cabin sits on five acres, so you get the best of both worlds—you can be in nature but have the luxury of a comfy bed and hot shower. And you’re minutes away from Raccoon lake for boating or swimming in the warmer months or head into Rockville for shops and a bite to eat.

There’s so many reasons why I love this little A frame cabin!

Share this with a friend who needs a little inspiration to book a weekend away!

Last weekend was my third time at @walkergetaway_ and I’ll be back!

It’s such an easy getaway—only about an hour from Indianapolis!

The owner is so kind and decorates the space in such an inviting way!

It’s close to Rockville, Raccoon Lake and Recreation Area and Turkey Run State Park!

But the space itself is cozy and offers a full kitchen, a grill and fire pit outside, a hot tub and it’s on about five acres.

We took a family weekend away there during the late summer and few years ago and our kids loved exploring the area! And it was so easy to go to nearby spots! We even played at the “beach” at Raccoon Lake Recreational Area which was our first time there and it was so fun!

And last weekend was a small girls weekend away with my bookclub that is celebrating 11 years as a bookclub next month! This was our second girls weekend away at The Walker Getaway and the time away was so needed and such a fun way to catch up and hangout uninterrupted and on a vacation schedule!

A trip to Rockville Farm Market for pumpkins and mums means one thing … fall has arrived at Walker Getaway! 🍂🎃

We love visiting the local Amish shops and markets around Parke County. So many hidden gems worth exploring while you’re here!

A little tip for your visit: Amish shops are closed on Sundays, and they only accept cash or check. Come prepared!

And just like that, the front porch is ready for fall! 🍁

Weekend diaries: Parke County edition! 🍁🍂

Good friends, fall adventures and some of our favorite local stops!

Hiking the iconic Trail 3 at Turkey Run State Park (those ladders!), admiring the gorgeous dahlias at Guion Hill, doing a little shopping at Rockville Retro, checking out the famous 'wall of soda' at G&M Variety and grabbing one of those famous tenderloins at Mecca Tavern.

And after a full day of exploring with friends? Back to Walker Getaway for a cozy evening around the fire pit, twinkle lights, a soak in the hot tub and a little time in the heated igloo. ✨

Fall weekends in Parke County are pretty hard to beat! ❤️

We’ve spent the last few days bringing fall to Walker Getaway, and the cabin and property are full of cozy touches and a little extra whimsy.
