Our living room transformation 🤎✨

Before, our living room felt quite cold and lifeless, I wanted to create a space that felt warmer, cosier and more inviting for our family.

I chose classic picture-frame wall moulding, I love how it adds character, depth and detail while keeping the room feeling clean, timeless and modern. It’s such a simple way to elevate plain walls and give a room that more considered, finished look without making it feel too busy.

I feel like it’s completely changed the atmosphere in here. It feels so much warmer, more homely and inviting.
It’s still our busy family living room, just with so much more character and that cosy feel I wanted to create. 🤎

I’m not sure what my style is but I’m pretty sure cottage, traditional, colorful but calm and artsy comes to mind!

The one question that’s been on my mind for the last 9 months of this renovation is: how to make the house somewhere we don’t want to leave.

Welcome to Hallway Makeover Part 3!💫

We just completed our biggest panelling project to date and nearly 90 meters of panelling later we couldn’t be happier with the result🤎

We went for traditional full-height panelling with picture frame mouldings and dado rail for a classic look.

Panelling details:

✨Dado rail - Ogee 2 MDF Dado Rail
(Width: 70mm, Thickness: 18mm, Finish: Undercoated, Length: 4200mm by @skirtingworld and @wallpanelsworld

✨Mouldings - 324 MDF Panel Moulding
(Width: 30mm, Thickness: 16mm, Finish: Undercoated, Length: 4200mm) by @skirtingworld and @wallpanelsworld

A few tips📏
1. It’s best to order extra moulding to allow for any off cuts - I was very glad we did this!
2. Having a drawing is super helpful and I drew out all the walls and panelling and used it to calculate the amounts needed and to check what goes where.
3. Using a piece of wood as a spacer - the easiest way to get even gaps between boxes and less measuring needed👌🏼
