With Storm Austin heading our way, you’ll know exactly where to find me this weekend... curled up next to one of my fires with a blanket and a cuppa. Let the wind do its thing out there. 🔥

Save this for your storm-day cosy checklist:

✅ Charge phones and torches before the wind picks up
✅ Bring in or tie down garden furniture and pots
✅ Pop the throws, candles and a good book in one spot so ✅ you’re ready to hunker down
✅ Batch cook something warming so dinner’s sorted if the power flickers

There’s nothing quite like a cosy home on a stormy night, and autumn by the fire is one of my favourite parts of the year.

The Lounge 🛋️ 🌺🌸 📚

So much work went on before we got to this point in this big old room.
It was a plain flat box, no focal point, draughty huge bay windows, walls covered in polystyrene wallpaper, so damp and uninviting 🫣

This meant us blocking up the hallway entrance, knocking through to open plan to the kitchen, blocking up a ridiculous side window, losing the huge glass bays by blocking up all 3 sides to allow one large window., heating, electrics, damp treatment, plastering, fire breast building, the list goes on!

Lots of cheap hacks and market place finds helped keep the room on budget.
I continued the same @valsparpaint autumn grove green from the rest of the house and replicated my @sophierobinsoninteriors woodland floral wallpaper thats in the extension, but in the rich jade green colour way this time for warmth. Added lots of her fabrics too, which always bring joy to a room!
Stuck to my @lick pink 13 on the ceiling and added the warmer @lick red 03 to the bay and fire surround.

Loving the deep warm cozy room that I created.. not for the faint hearted with all the colour texture and patterns.. but its my kind of heaven 🪴🌺💚

Hope you like,
Love Kim 🌸

Oh my gosh you guys made my life when you liked my last still-photo carrousel…reels sucked my complete and total will to live on Instagram…like I love photos so much because I’m a details person and I want to be able to show my details to you and then in return pour over the details in everyone else’s homes too! Reels are so annoying -like you see the cover shot and go to click on it and then it instantly disappears and everything is swooshing so fast …don’t even get me started on real estate videos 😖😂 …oh no I’m super aging myself remembering the relaxing back-in-the-day Instagram …basically a 🗞️ newspaper compared to now 😂😂😂 Do you guys like reels? I’m a 🦕

Wallpaper, panelling and a mix of old and new.

I’ve always loved homes that feel collected over time, with little details that tell a story.

You don't need to change everything at once. Sometimes a few thoughtful choices can make all the difference.

What would you choose for your home: wallpaper, panelling or vintage pieces? ♥️

In a house full of boys, I really wanted to create a space that felt feminine and was just for me 🤎

I’d seen one of my favourite interior designers use this wallpaper in so many beautiful projects and completely fallen in love with it. I just knew I had to have it somewhere in my home!

It’s the beautiful Florencecourt wallpaper in Stone by Cole & Son from @wallpaperdirect, and it’s an absolute dream! 😍

I’ve linked it on my stories
