A celestial wonder in our own backyard. 💫

Last Sunday, April 23rd, the Tetons were graced with a breathtaking display of the Northern Lights. A rare gift from Mother Nature that left us all mesmerized!

Thank you to @waltonimages for capturing such a special moment.

WOLVES IN THE NEWS

In October, Project Coyote and WildEarth Guardians sued to stop unscientific, senseless Wolf slaughter in Montana. The lawsuit alleges that the state’s extreme anti-wolf hunting & trapping policies violate the Montana Constitution, (MAPA), Public Trust Doctrine & several federal laws meant to protect wildlife on federally-managed lands.

In addition to the October 27, 2022 petition filed by both organizations for a lawsuit against the state of Montana, MTFWP & MT Fish & Wildlife Commission, they took an additional step for Wolves of the Northern Rockies on November 10th by submitting a brief requesting a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction as well. To quote from the November 10th petition “To protect Montana’s wolf population from an unscientific, unsustainable hunt and to enforce Petitioners’ rights to public participation, Petitioners as interested parties….., request that the Court issue a temporary injunction prohibiting the hunting & trapping of wolves until the Court can fully consider the merits of Petitioners request for a preliminary injunction”.

Monday, Nov 28, is the crucial hearing in state district court in Helena, when Judge Chris Abbott will decide if a temporary restraining order will become an injunction to reduce or stop the upcoming Montana season’s wolf hunt.

We are awaiting the outcome on Monday, and will keep you posted.
