Intense snowfall in the mountains pushes bighorn sheep towards lower elevations during the harsh winter months, where the pack isn’t as deep and food more easily available. These animals are well equipped for exposure to extreme temperatures, and are currently entering a very active time of their lives—the rut. The big rams in this scene have been sizing each other up with more regularity and should start bashing heads soon—helping to determine the future of next Spring’s herd. taken in Grand Teton National Park by @waltonimages

Hello friends! This weekend, Nov 18-19, I will be riding my bike 165 miles from Miami to Key West, in the 19th annual SMART Ride. The SMART Ride is the 2nd largest AIDS bicycle ride in the country and the only one of its size to give back 100% of its proceeds to organizations for education, prevention and direct HIV/AIDS related-services. Along with 500+ other riders, our journey will be one filled with pride, determination and the solemn remembrance of those who have suffered and are still suffering. I ride for them, and for a future free of AIDS. I sincerely hope that you will consider joining me on this journey. If you are able to make a donation, please know that any amount would be greatly appreciated, and you are able to do so by clicking the link in my bio. Thank you to everyone who has supported me thus far; your words and actions have made an immeasurable impact. We are all beyond grateful for your love ❤️💙🚴 by @waltonimages

A mother grizzly dives into unspoiled Alaskan headwaters in search of fat-rich salmon. It was incredible to observe this bear’s tactile and strength. She was constantly standing on her haunches, scanning the river bank for the densest school of fish. Once she found her target she would rush in, snatching her prize with jaw force strong enough to crush a bowling ball. This bear currently has four spring cubs to feed and protect, so every hunt and foraging expedition is crucial for this families survival. Wild places like these—left untouched and intact—allow the entire ecosystem to thrive as nature intended, and for fantastic scenes like this to play out regularly. It is our job to champion for these places, to continue to push back against destructive development of lands, and to ease the burden on our existing parks and monuments. by @waltonimages

Can’t resist a GGO pic 🦉... Hoping to catch a glimpse of these beautiful birds during Summer’s short season of plenty. This encounter took place this past Fall as the sun began its dramatic descent beyond the horizon. by @waltonimages
