This is my goodbye summer post ☀️👋 at one of the most epic sites we camped at this summer. Summer 2020 was truly one for the books. 📚 Through it all, we ended up having the most incredible few months exploring the Pacific Northwest. Due to COVID, we made the outdoors more of our playground than we ever have before. 🥾 🏔 We found ways to hang out with friends from a distance, and always outside. While the virus may have isolated us from the world, we felt as connected as ever to the places we visited. 🌍

As people that can move their home to wherever they want, it’s easy to want to chase summer as long as we can... ☀️ but today, we hopped in the RV and headed towards Colorado. Why? We are SO READY FOR FALL and the leaf peepin’ in CO is stunning! 🍁🍂 For me, fall is *hands down* my favorite season... who’s with me!? 🙋‍♀️

If you’re already dreaming 😴 about your plans for next summer, you cannot miss this epic boondocking spot off the Hoh River in Washington! (DM me for details) It’s right on the river and not only can you easily launch your kayaks, but you can do all day long floating!
⠀
Pro tips: Get creative and put a bunch of rocks in a bucket, put said bucket in the water, tie a rope to it and the tie your floats to it... 🦩🏖 semi-permanent dock!
⠀
Oh and if you want to do some white water kayaking that ends right at your home... 🚣‍♀️ Take your kayaks up to Minnie Peterson Campground, put them in the river and float/paddle all the way back home. So much fun!!! 🙌

Have we ever told you we like making friends and hanging out with people? 😜

Today we worked and then had a blast paddling lake diablo with friends we met when we were on the Olympic peninsula.

What a great Tuesday evening.

Today didn’t go as planned. This morning we woke up with the intention to hike the Riverside Walk to “scope out” The Narrows for Ben to hike solo one of the next couple days. We had no special gear but when we got there we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to do as a family - so we went for it...for 2.5 miles in and another 2.5 out. It was awesome and felt SO good to do with the girls (and new friends we met on the way). The water was frigid in the morning and felt refreshing nearly 5 hours later. Now I’m going to head to the visitor center and buy myself a t-shirt because I earned it.
