Rooted in the activist struggles of the 1980s feminist movements in Zürich, BREAK/CORE is a polyphonic, dissonant score poem translated into live performance. Plates, memory, and protest intertwine with sound, friendship, and planetary constellations, evoking the erotics of anger, mourning work, and queer-feminist futures.

Join us for this improvised live composition that reimagines resistance and resonance through sound.

‘nowhere left but here, here i am again’, curated by Ingrid Pui Yee Chu (@chupuiyee1771) for the Tai Kwun Artists’ Book Library has been one of the highlights this year. Presented within the framework of On Kawara’s ‘𝘙𝘶𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘰𝘮, 𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘧 𝘙𝘶𝘭𝘦𝘴’ exhibition, the display assembles a group of international contemporary artists who use letters, maps, postcards, stamps, and other printed materials as the basis for their work. As mediums often associated with conceptual art practices, their presence here not only serves as a means of corresponding over great distances, but as sites through which to document and share the artists’ most intimate moments.

Showing these personal works that were made five years ago for no audience and that gained new meaning in the context of this exhibition has been truly special. Framed by poignant curatorial texts, ‘Project: Sissi Kaplan with Tomson Chan (@tomsonchan_com), Sam I-shan (@samishan), Vivian Wang (@wangvivian) and Cyril Wong (@cyrilsingstheblues)’ features the book ’77 Days: An Experience Report’, a wall paper, the video ‘I Am Still Here’, and a selection of photographs from the ‘Inflatables’ series. It was inaugurated with the live performance ’77 Days: I am still here’.

Dear hibernating bears, cold ears & humming queers, OOR Saloon is very happy to invite you to «Diffraction Works – Score Workings», an all-day Score-Workshop on Sunday 2.3.2025 at Walcheturm Zürich @kunstraum_walcheturm In collaboration with Irene Revell, we invited 9 artists and a collective beforehand to write new Text-Scores, which we’d like to activate together with 4 facilitators for the first time with you! We are very much looking forward to hold some attention with you all! ———— With new scores by: Ximena Alarcón, Sarah Hennies, Tomoko Hojo, Kunci‘s School of Improper Education (Panca Lintang Dyah Paramitha, Riyadhus Shalihin, Samuel Bonardo), Bint Mbareh, Elaine Kitchener, Matana Roberts, Romy Rüegger, Ginger Brooks Takahashi Workshop facilitation: Kay Zhang, Vivian Wang, Jules Sturm & Angelo Custodio, Franziska Koch, Irene Revell, Aio Frei OOR Saloon has invited a series of artists/composers/musicians to develop new text scores that will be collaboratively activated, read, discussed and performed by the participants/audience at this day-long workshop-performance-event that is open to all (no prior skills or experience needed). The scores will also be published in a riso-printed “score-working-zine” given to everyone attending. The event focuses on cosmologies of non-separability, attentive and situated listening, joint improvisation, reading and discussion. The format thinks itself diffractive with and through the scores as relational propositions for embodied political negotiations, as temporally non-linear possibilities of gathering otherwise. The event will be held in english language. Whisper translation can be provided. The venue is wheelchair accessible. The space provides possibilities to lie down and rest. "Everything is all about community!" said @fanny_chiarello yesterday at @w_u_r_m_ for the book event with @mental_load_agency and @q.u.i.c.h.e.collective - and we all agreed. We need to find ways to work together and build different structures. Thanks to everyone who was involved and helped to make this happen. Vera from Q.U.I.C.H.E talked with Fanny about the book BASTA NOW which showcases flinta people in experimental music. Afterwards @taimashoe amd @wangvivian played a beautiful concert. It really was the best way to spend a Sunday.
