About the publication:

Clipping 3 takes its cue from Unbound Echo, a sonic installation by Aimée Theriot exploring echo as both a material phenomenon and a conceptual method.

Through scores, essays, field notes, poems, mythology, and oral traditions, this issue approaches echo not as repetition, but as transformation—reverberating across sound, memory, technology, architecture, and embodied practice.

Clippings is an initiave of Federica Notari @notajpeg as part of Nieuwe Instituut's research platform Through Sounds.

曾說「時尚會褪去，但風格永存。」的Coco Chanel，不僅用服裝作為武器來反叛時代，更勇於實驗、打破界線；Chanel在藝術裡找到美學的土壤，與多位影史大師及新浪潮導演展開深度合作，更是當今「前衛電影」與「當代藝術」最核心的靈魂。CHANEL品牌長期出資支持影史經典的數位修復計畫，例如馬賽爾·卡爾內（Marcel Carné）的《霧港碼頭》（Port of Shadows, 1938）。冠名贊助法國凱撒電影獎（César Awards）；在香港，亦冠名贊助 M+ 流動影像項目，包括成立「亞洲前衛電影交流庫」及「M+電影修復計劃」，積極推動在地及亞洲獨立電影的發展。

|「亞洲前衛電影節」（Asian Avant-Garde Film Festival，簡稱 AAGFF）

2023 年 7 月CHANEL 作為 M+ 博物館展開了為期三年的深度合作。不僅直接資助了 M+ 戲院的營運，更聯手推動「電影修復」與「前衛影像保存」。「M+修復」（M+ Restored）計劃出資修復九部見證香港電影歷史轉折的劇情長片，更資助 M+ 成立了亞洲首個且唯一一個「亞洲前衛電影交流庫」（Asian Avant-Garde Film Circulation Library）。這龐大的電影研究與館藏建置計劃，透過有系統的搜集、整理和數位化，讓非主流的珍貴影像不至於隨著時間在歷史中消失。特設「CHANEL 流動影像策展人」席位為了讓這項跨國界、跨世紀的電影保存有專業的學術引領，在 M+ 博物館內冠名贊助了一個高階策展職位——「CHANEL 流動影像主要策展人」（現由 Silke Schmickl 擔任）。

M+ 「亞洲前衛電影節」是 M+ 博物館首個大型電影節品牌，將影像帶出傳統影院。作品遍布 M+ 大台階、展覽廳、多用途空間以至數碼委約平台，將「看電影」轉化為一種沉浸式的視覺文化體驗。「亞洲前衛電影節2026」以跨領域框架探討「空間」概念，呈獻先鋒電影製作人高思雅和伊藤高志的作品，同時聚焦視覺藝術家拉米亞加賈舒、ikkibawiKrrr、拉里薩桑蘇爾與索倫琳德、徐冰和鄭馬樂，以及音樂單位David Boring、Daham Park與王嘉佳的創作。

| 焦點藝術家

在藝術界常被譽為當代「造字人」或「創字藝術家」徐冰，很多人不知道他也有電影長片。《蜻蜓之眼》是國際知名藝術家徐冰的首部長片，全片沒有一個攝影師或演員。他利用公共監控畫面（CCTV）剪輯成一部劇情長片，反思全球化下的監控、隱私與虛擬現實。除了電影，電影節還會放映他極具前瞻性的藝術衛星項目作品《不是人的東西》，並設有藝術家講座。

首度「跨界委約」邀請了拉米亞加賈舒 × 王嘉佳《遊牧軌跡》，作品結合了建築攝影與現場音樂表演。阿聯酋攝影師拉米亞加賈舒拍攝的大型、震撼全球建築照片，將在現場配上新加坡聲音藝術家王嘉佳的實時配樂演奏，創造極具沉浸感的視聽空間。

值得高度關注的「本地創作」是高思雅（Roger Garcia）作品回顧。高思雅自1980年代初創立獨立電影組織Modern Films Production，他製作的實驗電影及散文電影，為拓展香港的流動影像文化奠下重要基礎。「亞洲首映」由拉里薩桑蘇爾與索倫琳德，這對藝術家組合將在 M+ 大台階進行亞洲首映，帶來《被淹沒的故事與遲來的失去》。她們慣常使用科幻、烏托邦與記憶交織的流動影像，探討流亡、地域劃分與社群意義。鄭馬樂《裂褶菌的二萬三千種性別及其他故事》也是最新的「M+ 數碼委約」作品，藝術家打破人類常規思維，從真菌（裂褶菌）出發，透過前衛的影像探討自然界中超越傳統性別與空間定義的可能。

| 大音希聲：一場實驗性表演

「亞洲前衛電影節」再度呈招牌派對「一場實驗性表演」，帶來一夜活力十足的實驗音樂、現場演出和投射影像。香港的後噪音搖滾樂團David Boring將以最新專輯《Liminal Beings and Their Echoes》（2026）的現場演出，為當晚的活動掀起高潮。精彩陣容亦包括韓國聲音藝術家暨策展人Daham Park極具氣氛的DJ演出、舞蹈學生的現場表演、LifeWielder節奏強勁的表演、Happy Wheels結合實驗噪音及滑板的演出，以及鄭馬樂帶來的氛圍動畫。

電影節期間，M+的流動影像中心將變成「電影節蒲點」。現場將舉辦免費絲網印刷工作坊，並展示鄭馬樂於M+館藏的沉浸式錄像與虛擬實境作品《作為一隻（虛擬）蝙蝠是怎麼樣的？》（2023）。同場亦呈獻多件裝置作品，包括ikkibawiKrrr的《誰忘了村莊》（2026）、徐冰的《一個轉換案例的研究》（1993–2018），以及里爾吉迪拉瓦尼的《蜜蘊於岩水涵於石》（2026），此作品邀請訪客與朋友、家人，甚至陌生人一同打乒乓球。

Vivian Wang (Singaporean, born 1971) is a composer, sound artist, and musician. Her transdisciplinary work draws on a range of sonic practices to reconfigure intermediate spaces and construct sound architectures. A founding member of the experimental rock group The Observatory, she has performed as a noise and improv musician since 2001. Using environmental sounds, field recordings, and elemental approaches, Wang develops durational pieces for expanded media, performances, and interactive installations.

王嘉佳（1971年出生於新加坡）是作曲家、聲音藝術家兼音樂家。她取材自多元聲音實踐的跨領域作品，重構中間地帶並創造聲音建構。身為實驗搖滾樂團The Observatory的創團成員，她自2001年起便以噪音與即興音樂家的身分進行演出。王嘉佳運用環境聲音、現場錄音及元素手法，為擴展媒介、表演及互動裝置創作出長時段作品。
