WATER CELEBRATION DAY
3 October
Programme - part 3

Activities & performances by:
@rensspanjaard
@zachtivist and @westcott_shannon_westcott
@eyecreatemirror
@warmheartssauna

The Water Celebration Day is supported by Gemeente Amsterdam Nieuw-West.

Rens will takes us into the lives of plants through a number of observation exercises to make contact with the plant and its environment; seeing, smelling, tasting and experiencing the plants ourselves. Everyone will of course discover very different qualities in the process. That is what often makes a joint walk so much fun, rich and instructive. Led by Rens, we will reflect on this and Rens himself will address our relationship to plants, especially the tension between edible and medicinal. Which plants do you like to grow and which ones are good for you? So discover, taste and smell with him the hidden lives of plants around us.
Rens Spanjaard is a cook and a fantastic nature guide. Rens studies herbal medicine and was the initiator of the food forest in Almere and Amsterdam.
The wild foraging walk starts at 14:45.

De Zachtivist (Jetske Verhoeven & Shannon Westcott) presents: HeartBeat

A seasonal ritual about life force, connection and awakening to the web of life of which we are an inseparable part. After a summer of exuberant vitality, it is time to slowly turn our attention inward. Yet the pulse of life can be felt here too: in our heartbeat, our breath, the living current flowing through us.

HeartBeat is a sensory, participatory performance bringing together poetry, soundscapes and movement. The audience is invited to slow down, turn inward and reconnect with the living current that flows through our bodies and the world around us.

From 15:45 and 18:30

With everything going on I feel like I am approaching my very own D-Day…in feelings and energy levels (but also because I want to start calling Father’s Day, D(ad)-Day, because I’m silly like that)

So…I have been meaning to do content/promotion for the ridiculous amount of the events/workshops that I am hosting and collaborating on and kept procrastinating from (ADHD much?) and so I am just going to do them here and now and not worry about how pretty or effective they look, just that they are accessible and tagged by the WONDERFUL people that I have been collaborating with (and provide more details later on because I’m already late for something right now 😂🙈🥲)

SO proud of the work I’ve done over the years with Eva @damparentingpodcast and especially with the latest episode for #MensMentalHealthWeek describing my journey through Neurodiversity/Parenthood/Burnout
19/6 Doing a special edition of Dads Do Art for the @warmheartssauna Midsummer party at @buurtwerkplaats_noorderhof
21/6 Working with @papote.ams and @noel_runolds to do a Fathers Day Run Club at 09:30 @DadsDoRunning
21/6 Working with @mukhakidsyoga for Dads Do Yoga at 11:15
21/6 Attending Fathers Day Dance along with @groovaroo_with_annick
27/6 Dads Do Art at @oba_nieuwwest at 09:30
28/6 Dads Do Science with the wonderful @thesciencecamp at 14:00

Last weekend a dream became reality. We hosted the OG’s of sauna universe - 60+ Finn’s & friends coming for a taste of our löyly.

4 hours were not enough so we steamed on for a bit longer. So so cool that we could offer you all a feeling of home.

Big hearts full of steam coming from the polder. We are stoked to make this a seasonal gathering.

Comment HOME if you’d like to join the next one.
