What an incredible morning at the Atlanta HBCU 5K. ❤️

The race itself was a blast, but one of my favorite parts was catching up with friends, including my college classmate Calleb, who I hadn’t seen in years.

Then something pretty special happened.

Last year at The Race Half Marathon, I had one goal: break 2 hours. Coach Tommy was pacing the sub-2 group, and although we didn’t know each other then, he helped bring me home in 1:58.

Today, I spotted him again, pacing another group. I ran alongside them for a bit before pulling ahead.

With about a quarter mile to go, I hit what felt like the biggest hill on the course and I thought my soul was about to leave my body 😂

Then I heard a familiar voice come up beside me.

“Head up. Use your arms. Keep going.”

Coach Tommy came up behind me and coached me all the way up that hill. At the top, I grabbed some water, dumped it over my head, turned the corner into Piedmont Park… and there was the finish line.

I found one last gear.

As I picked up the pace, I heard him say, “You got this! There you go!”

It’s amazing how a few words from someone who believes in you can change the outcome of a race.

🏅 1st place in my age group.
🏅 7th overall out of 2,482 women.

Thank you, Coach Tommy @warrior.running for pushing me, not just today, but without even realizing it, over the past year. Sometimes the people who make the biggest difference in our journeys don’t even know they’re doing it. ❤️

ACG Broken Arrow Skyrace ⛰️

Hands down one of the most challenging races I’ve ever done, but also one of the most unforgettable experiences I’ve ever had.

The climbs, the views, the energy, the people… Broken Arrow is different.

And to top it all off, I finally got to meet Sally (@yellowrunner) 🙌🏾

Like… who gets to be brought home by one of the best trail runners in the world??? Certainly not everyone. That’s a memory I’ll never forget.

Huge thank you to @brokenarrowskyrace and @bmrturf for an incredible experience.

I’ll be back next year… stronger, tougher, and ready for more.

No matter how far we’ve come, we can always be MORE. Even Legends like MJ and Kobe knew greatness meant staying open to learning. I’m running this marathon with that same humility Learning, growing, staying Coachable. Because the REAL WIN is becoming better than yesterday.
