Counting down the last museum days with a wonderful exhibition opening of Nationa Artist Agnes Locsin's Dance is My Life, an artist talk by the national artist herself and a dance performance by Georgette Sanchez-Vargas and Biag Gaongen. A woodcarving workshop by Jeanroll Ejar opened my eyes to the wonders of playing with wood. School tours in between, a super busy but super happy and productive day. I am proud of this work and the team that I will be leaving behind. Madamu gid nga salamat! 💖

Tomorrow, PUTYOKAN, a performance art piece, begins.

For four consecutive days, I will construct a beehive-like structure that reflects on family dynamics, care, absence, and longing. The work draws from experiences of maternal presence and paternal absence, exploring how these shape memory, identity, and belonging.

Join us tomorrow, June 18, from 3:00 PM onwards. The closing program will be held on June 21 at 3:00 PM.

Since it’s already arts month, throwback to my thesis film from 12 years ago!

Still proud of this project. If I could recreate this with a more mature take, I definitely would but with the same cast and crew.

It was also after this that I got diagnosed with BD and ADHD.

Aah… we came a long way already, Lendz. Let’s be kinder to ourself.

Congratulations Batch Samo-Samo of the first Linangan Art Residency outside of Alfonso, Cavite. With acclaimed and noted mentors - artists and cultural workers, these 21 young artists have finally finished their 2 month art residency in ILOMOCA. Happening every weekend since October, these 21 young artists are ready to take on their own artistic journeys stronger together. This endeavour was made possible with the help of Mr. Manny Garibay and the Linangan team, Megaworld and the local government of Iloilo City.

Has it only been a week and a couple of days since I started in my #newjob here in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions/Events) Center?

Well, it felt more than that to me with the never-ending ganaps — the 16th National Food Showdown; Cecile Licad’s concert; embarking on a heritage food adventure with Chef Sandy Daza and the Metro Channel team, Patis Tesoro’s exhibit, and the opening of the Iloilo Arts Festival. Plus, being back in the world of writing again after quite some time.

It’s been an overwhelming mix of fun and work. A HUGE thanks to the kindness and guidance my coworkers have shown me since day one. My social battery’s quite drained, and my creative juices have ran dry… Still grateful for all that has been and all that has yet to unfold in this new chapter of mine. Padayon lang! 🙏🏻💪🏻☀️

Every artwork at ILOMOCA comes with a voice behind it, the artists who turn history, imagination into something we can see and feel. Some pieces reflect struggles we’ve faced as a nation, others spark wonder with playful surprises, and a few transform familiar rooms into reflections of our own lives. Every artwork has a story. Which one spoke to you? Comment below!
