We are incredibly honoured to have been a finalist nominee in two categories; Beauty salon of the year and director of the year 🌟Although we didn’t win, we were grateful to be acknowledged and have our name up there with incredible talent. Friday was amazing. I was extremely anxious all day but I knew that whatever the outcome would be I would be grateful. Even if I didn’t walk up there to receive anything, being a finalist was already such an accomplishment. I didn’t win but I still got recognised for my application and everything I’ve accomplished and will accomplish for the future of RU STUDIO.

To @wassaba.official thank you for starting the very first WA beauty spa and wellness awards. You had a vision and it came to life in the most spectacular way. 340 people attended, it was executed so well and was such a special time to have fellow business owners in the same boat putting themselves out there in such a vulnerable way.

To Elona and Hannah at @musestudiocollective , thank you for believing in me from day one, encouraging me to begin my tattooing journey and constantly pushing me to grow as an artist. I’m forever grateful for you both.

To Zoe @vv.allure , the growth I’ve experienced in just two months under your wing has been beyond anything I imagined. From travelling interstate for work to expanding my skills and knowledge, you’ve helped me achieve goals I once only dreamed of.

And lastly, to my Joe and my love. Thank you for being my biggest hype man, showing up for me, never allowing my shine to be dulled and loving me exactly as I am. For nine months you’ve been telling me I’m “the rising star of Perth”, and now I have a little trophy to show for it.

Some nights you just KNOW you’re part of something really special! 🥹✨

And Friday night was one of them!

33 years in this incredible industry, and I still get butterflies!

What an absolute privilege to MC the inaugural WASSABA Awards, Western Australia’s very first state awards dedicated to celebrating excellence across our salon, spa, skin, aesthetic and beauty industry! @wassaba.official

The MC brief big energy, fun and create a memorable night 🫶🫶

And can we take a moment for Laura Smyth and Ilka Richter? @lau_smy @elke.richter

Two women with a BIG dream, the courage to back themselves and a vision to bring our industry together.

And WOW, what they created! 🥂

But what really filled my heart was the PEOPLE.

The stories behind the applications. The courage to put yourself forward. The years of dedication, learning, leadership, building incredible teams and creating experiences that change people’s lives.

Because when you’re building a business, you’re so often chasing the next big dream that you forget to stop and celebrate just how far you’ve come.

And Friday night, we did exactly that!

We got dressed up, connected, laughed, cheered each other on and celebrated the extraordinary talent we have right here in WA.

And standing on that stage, looking out at that room, I couldn’t help but think...

Some of those incredible people are now living the very dream they once imagined.

How bloody beautiful is that?!

Laura and Ilka, you dreamed it, you backed yourselves, and you brought it to life.

And every single person in that room became part of history.

Years from now, we’ll get to say...

Skin Geraldton is officially the 2026 WASSABA Emerging Business of the Year!

We’re still pinching ourselves after last night’s awards, and feeling incredibly proud (and a little emotional!) to be bringing this one home to Geraldton. 🤎

Over the past two years, we’ve poured so much into growing and evolving Skin Geraldton. Not just in the treatments and technology we offer, but in our people, our culture, the standards we hold ourselves to and the experience we create for every person who walks through our doors.

To have that collective effort recognised on a state level, alongside so many remarkable WA businesses, is something really special.

Last night we had the pleasure of attending the very first @wassaba.official industry award event at the beautiful @ritzcarltonperth and it was incredible 🤍 For individuals and businesses to be recognised, and hold space for one another and support each other is so important, and what a privilege it was to be a finalist. It was serendipitous timing that beautiful Rin, my close friend and the clinic manager of @iboutiqueau was here to share this with me ❤️After only one year here in Perth, I am so proud of what I have achieved with @iboutiqueperth and can't wait to see where we go next 🥹 Thankyou to @wassaba.official for a perfect night, and to all of my clients and supporters ~ I am so grateful to you all 🤍🤍🤍

The audacity to…

If you know me you would know how fearful I was and how hard it was to believe in myself, I mean I got my drivers license at 25 🙈

But if I never stepped out into the unknown and applied for my dream job @fusion_aestheticsau (with no experience) I would not be here today accepting the Rising Star Award @wassaba.official
