Doing #speedytuesday with an untouched and unpolished 42mm stainles steel Omega Speedmaster Professional “Moonwatch” Ref. 145.022-71 ST, which is a 32,842,XXX movement serial, circa 1972 production.  The Speedmaster features an exceptionally well-preserved case with razor sharp case bevels, accented by its original Dot Next to 90 “DN90” Base 500 tachymeter bezel. The watch is mounted on its original 1039 flat link bracelet with all of its stretch links by the clasp present, which is stamped with a production date from the first quarter of 1972. The Omega retains its original matte black stepped dial with painted tritium hour markers and white tritium-coated hands. Powering the 145.022-71 ST is the famed Lemania based, manually wound Caliber 861 movement, which is running flawlessly. Overall, the Omega is in excellent vintage condition and appears unpolished, representing a wonderful, well-preserved, fresh to market example of an early “Moonwatch” Speedmaster Professional, made all the more desirable by the presence of its original 1039 flat-link bracelet, which seldom accompanies these watches today. . . . . . #omegamoonwatch #speedypro #vintageomega #speedmaster101

#bluewatchmonday with a 36mm 18 karat yellow gold and steel Rolex Datejust Ref. 16013, accompanied by its complete box and papers and originally retailed through AAFES (Army & Air Force Exchange Service) in May of 1985. Its punched guarantee paper bears country code 902, corresponding to U.S. Military AAFES Germany. During the late Cold War, Rolex watches retailed through AAFES in Germany were available exclusively to U.S. service members stationed overseas, a restriction intended to prevent interference with Rolex’s established U.S. authorized retailer network.  The Datejust features a brushed steel case with gold fluted bezel, and is mounted on its original 62523H-18 bracelet, which is stamped with a J2 clasp code, corresponding to production in February 1985. The watch is fitted with a blue sunburst stick hour marker dial, whose tritium lume plots and hands have begun to develop a lovely light cream colored patina with age.  Overall, the watch remains in excellent vintage condition, and while its blue sunburst dial is truly spectacular, the fact that it was retailed during the height of the Cold War to a U.S. service member overseas is arguably much cooler than the dial ! - Inquires Welcome via DM. . . . . . #16013 #datejust36 #toolwatch #vintagerolexforum

An extremely well preserved 36mm 18 karat yellow gold Oysterquartz Day-Date Ref. 19018, which was purchased by its original owner for $9,800 in 1981, which was full retail including tax at the time !  The Day-Date features a brushed gold case with fluted bezel, and is mounted on its original integrated 19018 President bracelet, which retains full links. The watch is fitted with a silver sunburst dial, whose tritium lume has developed a charming pumpkin colored patina with age. An iconic and exceedingly rare 23mm by 37mm solid 18 karat rose gold Vacheron Constantin Les Historiques Jalousie Ref. 10002/000R-8449, accompanied by complete box and papers, and in New Old Stock (NOS) condition.  The Vacheron features a rectangular stepped case with hand-engraved scrolling on the case flanks, though its switch, located below 6 o’clock and set with a blue sapphire cabochon, is what makes the Jalousie a horological icon. Sliding the switch horizontally from left to right operates the watch’s spring-loaded shutter mechanism, bringing the shutters to life as they open to reveal a silvered grained dial beneath with applied rose gold index hour markers and blued leaf hands. Les Historiques is powered by the manually wound Vacheron Caliber 1055, which offers approximately 40 hours of power reserve. Les Historiques Jalousie was introduced by Vacheron in the mid 1990s as an extremely limited production model, part of their Tribute series. It draws inspiration from the VC Montre à Volets, produced at the height of the Art Deco period in the early 1930s in collaboration with Parisian jeweler Verger Frères, whose iconic shutter design was itself inspired by the louvered window of a house. The Jalousie was produced in extremely scarce numbers, with total production across all variations of the model estimated to be in the low hundreds. Overall, the Jalousie is a Vacheron equally as iconic for the brand as it is rare. An exceptional fresh to market and unpolished “First Execution” Heuer Autavia GMT Pepsi MK1 Ref. 2446C, which is a 109,XXX serial, circa 1969 production.  The Heuer features a polished finish steel case fitted with a bidirectional steel bezel that contains an integrated blue and red 24 hour GMT insert. The watch is mounted on an unworn Blue Jeans Saffiano calfskin leather strap by @hideandalloy. The Autavia retains its original MK1 “Flat Register” dial with painted tritium hour markers and polished steel tritium coated hands, complemented by silver guilloché sub dial registers at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. The tritium lume on the hands and dial has aged beautifully, developing a uniform custard colored patina over time. Powering the 2446C is the manual wind Valjoux 72C movement, which is running well. A beautiful glossy gilt dial Rolex GMT Master Pepsi Ref. 1675, circa 1965 production, which received a movement service from the world renowned @zimmermanwatchrepair . The GMT-Master features a steel case that retains its original chamfers and is fitted with a lovely fat font blue and red “Pepsi” GMT bezel insert, whose red accents have aged to a lovely light salmon pink hue. The Rolex features an exceptional black glossy Type C Gilt “Wide Swiss” dial that retains a strong mirror like gloss lacquer, while the tritium lume plots and hands have acquired a warm and rich custard colored patina with age. The watch is mounted on a brushed steel C&I Rolex USA Rivet Oyster bracelet. An exceptional unpolished and fresh-to-market 40mm stainless steel Breitling AOPA Navitimer Pre-806, circa 1955, which was serviced by the world-renowned vintage Breitling specialist Horological Services. The Navitimer features a razor-sharp unpolished case with crisp factory brushed lines and chamfers, retains its original 125 bead slide rule bezel, and is mounted on an unworn green canvas calfskin-backed strap secured by a brushed steel tang buckle. The watch features a stunning AOPA-branded black gilt dial with radium hour markers and hands and recessed black guilloche sub-dial registers at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. The radium hour markers and hands have developed a rich custard-colored patina with age. The Navitimer is powered by the famed Valjoux 72, which is only found in early examples of the Navitimer produced during the first 12 to 24 months of production. Freshly serviced with a movement overhaul and OEM crystal replacement by world renowned vintage specialist @zimmermanwatchrepair , the watch is accompanied by a two year warranty on the work performed The Big Block features a brushed steel case with a bi directional black 12 hour calibrated bezel insert and is mounted on its original brushed steel C&I Rolex USA Rivet Oyster bracelet with a 1978 date code. The Tudor features an extremely rare silver “Solo dial,” which refers to the absence of any dial text beyond the word “Tudor” printed beneath the applied 18 karat white gold shield logo. These dials are seldom seen and were only fitted to first series Big Blocks produced during the first two years of production, and are similsr to dials found on early examples of the first generation screw-down pusher Daytona Ref. 6240, which share the same nick name.
