The new song “Ghost Drawn” as arranged and performed by the Free Key Choir (written by me) is out now!

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We’re still glowing from last week’s 3rd Annual Harvest Festival at our little farm in Tuttletown. ❤️

James and I started hosting this party to connect with our community, make new friends, and bring the people we love from near and far into this little world of ours. I think it’s working!

It’s honestly a little overwhelming to look around and see SO many people (and SO many little kids running around!), but I love watching this community grow simply by bringing friends and strangers together to have some fun. From the food you bring, to the generous musician donations, flower arranging, drinks, and all that damn good energy — YOU make this party what it is. Thank you for coming by plane, foot, or car (at least 10 of you WALKED this year. Go Tuttletown!) and for becoming part of our world.

Like any good Tuttletown day, it was 97° before turning into the most perfect night.

A VERY special thanks to the 9+ musicians who put on a show for us! First, our Tuttletown neighbors @honeyrunband, followed by @tauwoo, @emilyaftonmusic feat. the Tuttletown Farm Boys 😘, and @waterstrider. You guys are the coolest for traveling all this way and bringing so much love to this event. What an honor! ❤️

Huge shout-out to our co-hosts @puppetgarden and Chris for all the work they put into the yard, lights, parking, signage…the list goes on.

And to our very patient neighbors (who were invited but didn’t come) for not calling in a noise complaint while live music and dancing carried on well past midnight 🙏 Y’all must like Radiohead or something 🤷‍♀️

Lastly, to all the farmers: we counted at least 20 of you with your families! Thank you for your tireless work feeding us all season long. You truly spoil us! ❤️🧑‍🌾👩‍🌾🍑🍅🥔🥬🍷🌾

😍🎉

Party kickoff with Tuttletown neighbors Kat and Owen @honeyrunband! Thank you so much for playing again! Nothing says farm party like a fiddle and Kat singing about Sonora Pass ❤️❤️

Hosts always be hostin’ in some secret part of the property 🤫

Late afternoon scenes

A classic. It ain’t a harvest party without Odessa carrying a bubbling hot lasagna across the yard

We were so happy to have @_tauwoo again after missing him last year! 😢 We

I’ve stopped trying to control everything. I’ve learned to trust my discernment, trust my perception of what’s unfolding in front of me. The thing is when I trust myself to see things clearly, a lot more choice appears, a lot more freedom becomes accessible and then clarity on “what to do and when” emerges naturally.

That’s what happened at this gig.

I was supposed to play at sunset, but the energy of the party wasn’t quite there, “it wasn’t time for my music yet,” I thought to myself. I shared this information with the person who booked me and he trusted me to let my performance time be emergent, trusting that the right time will reveal itself…and reveal itself it did.

Not every show offers this type of flexibility and yet I find myself being drawn to these types of nontraditional gigs more and more. After all, sharing music is so much more than just performing on stage…it’s real life magic, invocation, transmutation…it’s a collective experience with the performer and the audience…lest us not constrict such powerful summoning to the construct of human time shall we??

This one is called “Do the Thing” and this smooshy, introspective, cuddle forward rendition came alive with the help of my dear friend @waterstrider

If you’ve got a nontraditional performance space, slide into my DMs, let’s create an ✨ experience✨ together 💎🌌🌀🧚

Ran out of time at our last gig, but this magical jam lives on in our minds. ✨ “In Your Eyes” by Peter Gabriel (1986), long-form version inspired by the legendary Secret World Live concert (1994).
A full meal.
A wink from the heavens.
A love without fear.
One of the few to make the cut on @siobear’s list of perfect songs, and a joy to play. Every time.

It’s ok to be misunderstood. It’s ok to not fit someone else’s idea of who you should be. Disappointing people is par for the course when you choose to be your full, authentic self.

There’s no “right” way to be - everyone’s perspective/wants/desires/needs are different. Pretending you’re ok with sh*t you’re not ok with or pretending to be somebody you’re not is manipulative…even if your intentions are good.

Pretending in order to avoid being alone is ultimately a self destructive behavior and you take people you care about down with you.

Maybe we can all stop doing that now? Maybe we can all begin the work of dismantling who we pretend to be to allow more room for who we actually are…

No one is walking your/my path. No one is living your/my life. Let’s allow ourselves to be ourselves and trust that we’ll be loved and appreciated for it. Those who ride with that level of authenticity will find you and those that don’t will (and likely already have) fallen away.

Trust yourself. Trust what’s here for you now. Trust your process. And listen to my song “Feel Me (Stripped)” wherever you stream music.
