I’m beyond honored to announce that the @freekeychoir just released a brilliant version of my (as of yet unreleased) song “Ghost Drawn” on Bandcamp and all streaming platforms. Here’s a little clip of me performing a preview of the song at a previous Free Key Choir concert.

If you’d like to see the choir (of which I am but one humble part) perform this and a whole bundle of other incredible original songs by Bay Area songwriters, I highly recommend getting tickets to our shows at the end of this month. They are selling out fast, so get em while you can.

All the love to you and thanks for listening!

Part 2 • @waterstrider shares about writing GHOST DRAWN and how it feels to hear 120+ voices sing it.

Shout out to @school_of_song!! Nate Salman wrote the song during @robinpecknold’s class back in 2022.

@waterstrider (Nate Salman) is an innovative Oakland-based indie artist whose music is a tapestry of experimentation. Free Key Choir has been performing @supdsup’s haunting arrangement of their song GHOST DRAWN since December 2024.

@gbrllgrnbrg sat down with Nate to hear about the inspiration for the song, what it’s come to mean to them, and what it’s like to experience the FKC version. Here’s Part 1 of their chat :)

This Friday, May 15, we will be releasing the *studio version* of GHOST DRAWN, recorded at @tiny.telephone and the studio of @itinerant_home. by @waterstrider

My dear friend @gingerfphotography took these incredible photos during our show at @theestorkcluboakland a few weeks ago. I am forever grateful for Ginger’s documenting of the Bay Area music scene over the years. Nothing quite captures the energy of live performance like her brilliant double exposure photos ✨🤘

We will be doing another live performance very soon (on the 28th, to be exact), alongside @thefamilycrest and @madisipes at @swedishamericanhall for @noisepop

Hope to see you there!

Fresh off of our show on Thursday night, we will be performing on @kalxradio tonight at 9pm PST. It’s also my birthday, so that’s kinda fun!

Enjoy a photo dump of nature and a little pixelated zoom of me when I time traveled back to 1922…

One week until our show at @theestorkcluboakland with @kingdreammusic and @that.band.frank ! It’s gonna be epic, so I hope we see you there East Bay folk!

I’ve been inactive on here because I’m deep in a writing process (see photo 3 of my little inspiration cube where I’ve been spending a lot of my time lately), and as a result we are going to play a new song at this show!

You can get a preview of that tune if you swipe all the way to the last video (just ignore my rapidly disappearing hairline/bedhead situation…)

Thanks for being here
