Still buzzing from an unforgettable weekend at the ISTA @istasoundsconference (International Sound Therapy Association) conference! 🎶✨ My heart is overflowing with gratitude for everything I learned, felt, and experienced. this field is simply pure magic.

Being immersed in that space gave me the most profound “aha” moment: I’ve actually been experiencing sound healing my entire life.

Growing up in Puerto Rico, rhythms, dancing, and music were in the air I breathed. 20 years ago, when I began my wellness journey through Zumba, those uplifting beats moved something so deep within me. I was always drawn to Marc Anthony’s “Aguanile”, which in Yoruba translates to spiritual cleansing of your body and temple. Looking back, that’s exactly why those dance sessions felt so elevating, it was a constant state of energetic purity and release! ✨🇵🇷

Connecting with so many radiant souls was truly the highlight:
🥁 Meeting Christine Stevens, the drumming queen herself! @ubdrumcircles
💛 Reconnecting in person with my beautiful tutor, Kaycita! @kaycelaine
🌊 Gathering with fellow members of the Sound Healing Society family!

And the sound baths they created for us? Pure medicine. Ahhh, absolutely breathtaking. 🛁✨ I already can’t wait to dive into all the replays and bring this elevated magic into my upcoming sessions and retreats with you all!

Drop a 🎶 below if music or rhythm has ever been your medicine. 👇🏽

That’s a wrap on @istasoundsconference 2026! I learned so much, FINALLY got to meet @nataliebrownsoundsheal + @theomshoppeandspa IRL, got some quality time with my sound sister @themetamusician and late night / early morning bonding with a few beautiful Sound Healers Society members @wavesofchangecoalition and @mindbodypaloma (and Ashley!)

And of course, loved being able to share a presentation on Music Theory for Sound Healers - something I’m so so passionate about!

Already can’t wait for next year 🤍

An open letter to the people who take care of people for a living…

And maybe especially to the ones who also take care of everyone in their real life.

The therapists. Social workers. Counselors. Nurses. Coaches. Teachers. First responders. Military Service Members, Caregivers. The friend everyone calls. The person in the family who somehow always knows what to do next.

We’ve been thinking about you.

There’s something strange that happens when being capable becomes part of your identity.

People trust you with hard things.

You know how to stay calm. You know the language. You know the resources. You know how to sit beside someone in something uncomfortable without immediately trying to make it disappear.

And eventually, being the person who can handle it can quietly turn into being the person expected to take it.

The extra responsibility. The emotional weight. The one more thing. The assumption that you’ll be fine because you usually are.

Most of our conversations about burnout happen once someone is already burned out.

We’ve gotten very good at recognizing what happens when people who care for others have given too much for too long. This summer, being part of Third Wave has given us a chance to see that in real time.

People who spend their lives being responsible for other people getting in the ocean and becoming beginners again. Just a person learning how to stand on a surfboard.

Falling. Laughing. Trying again. Being taken care of for a minute.

And the people who spend their lives serving and helping other people come back to themselves need to actively participate in their own lives, too.

Build it into your life now.
Build it into your practice now.

Have experiences that have nothing to do with being useful to someone else. Be a beginner. Have fun. Move your body. Learn something. Let somebody else know what to do. Make room for the parts of your life that belong entirely to you.

Not because doing those things will make you a better therapist, social worker, nurse, teacher, coach, caregiver or friend.

Because your life is also one of the lives you’re responsible for participating in.
