The circular tank at the University of Edinburgh’s FloWave facility can create some crazy effects. This rotating wave field is only possible in a tank with paddles all the way around in a circle. #circle #waves #roundandround #wave #science #sciencefiction #flowave #universityofedinburgh #edinburgh #prettythings #asmr

Yesssaiiii buzzin to announce the return of @onlyjuanmare to @bunkerbaredinburgh this Saturday…

Cory aka Juan Mare is the man behind the mobile party starting wagon @portavibesoundsystem and is a DJ/Producer with a wide ranging taste in banging music. Cory was the first ever guest at @wavestation.edi back in May which was a serious vibe so it’s about time we got him back on the wheels, this time taking us for a spin down turbo alley. Resident and chief BC will also be flinging out a few tasties so get your dancing shoes on, pull your socks up and keep your hands and feet inside the venue at all times cos it’s you might get frostbite otherwise ☃️

Set to be a good night so get doooown if your on the town 🪩

Open decks 9-11pm as usual for anyone after a jar and a casual spin 🍻🎧

2 days until our next event and we continue with our DJ intros - this time, resident DJ and LF co-founder @djscavenger !

A cowgate connoisseur, he was surprised to see such a dedicated D&B crowd in Edinburgh on arrival over a decade ago, and after regular resident appearances at nights such as Champion Sound, he joined Liquid Funktion alongside legend and proud papa Jamie BC. Since then, the mission has been simple - share the music we love and focus on making each night as memorable as possible!

Q: what was your first taste of D&B?
A: Pendulum - Slam. I heard it on a mix CD without knowing the name, then took hours trying to find it again when it wouldn’t leave my head!

Q: looking forward to playing anything in particular?
A: some nice new things from Dawn Wall recently - eg ‘Fears’

Q: do you have a favourite DJ / Producer / MC?
A: Producer - Alix Perez, he’s close to GOAT level right now, Spectrasoul a close second (now no longer...)

DJ - Marky - he’s definitely the DJ who’s style has influenced me the most, and his selections outside of D&B are just as good.

MC: when (other half of Liquid Funktion) BC jumps on the mic out of nowhere there’s nothing I enjoy more - rare as it is!

Can’t wait - this will be a banger 🌊👀

Just 4 sleeps to go before we get back to our OG party spot in @mashhouse upstairs. After our launch at The Annexe (which is no longer there) back in 2016 we moved into doing small room parties with local sound systems at mashy upstairs. We’ve had some banging nights there over the years and this Saturday should be no different!

We are mega gassed to be linking up with local wave makers and party starters @grdnedin who are bringing their weighty custom built rig for the ride. This crew don’t mess about when it comes to bringing quality tunes so when pitted alongside our in house team of wave machines for an all night dnb, breaks and jungle rollout you know it’s gonna be a good’n 🦾

So to announce one of GRDN’s DJs who will be playing on the night, pictured is Noodle! @milliehunter.noodle

Millie brings energy to every set plus sick selections you may not have heard before and premium mixing tekkers 👌

Swipe 👉👉 to see her dropping a dnb heater the other week at our sister event @wavestation.edi

We asked Millie some questions ahead of Saturday to get an insight to her relationship with the drums and the bass. Here’s what we found out:

What tune got you into dnb for the first time?

Photek - Ni Ten Ichi Ryu
(Woi that’s a proper stepper, make sure you give it a listen)

Give us a taste of the sort of sounds you will be bringing on Saturday:

Shogun - Slipstream (Tech Itch Remix) …. Jheez screw face guaranteed with this one!

And finally, if you can choose a your current fav producer, dj and Mc who would it be:

Producer: local lad @smiffmusic
DJ: @djyodauk
MC: @ladychann

🔥🔥🔥

Yes Millie!!! Big up ya self and see you Saturday for some shellage 🐚
