We have something to celebrate!

Waymakers and the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force have been recognized with a PROTOS Award from the Orange County Public Relations Society of America (OCPRSA) for our 2025 Human Trafficking Victim Report press conference held at the Anaheim Police Department @anaheimpd on November 5, 2025.

The press conference brought together Task Force partners to share critical findings about human trafficking in Orange County, including the alarming reality that half of the victims assisted in 2023 and 2024 were minors. The effort generated more than 30 media stories, helping bring greater awareness to this often-unrecognized crime and the importance of prevention and victim support.

We're grateful to our Task Force partners @ocdatoddspitzer @ocsocialservicesagency and our communications partner, @reveilleinc, for helping shine a light on this important issue. This recognition is a great reminder of what we can accomplish together to support victims and protect vulnerable members of our community.

The PROTOS Awards recognizes the outstanding public relations work across industries - campaigns, programs, and individuals that demonstrate creativity, strategic thinking, collaboration, and tangible results.

The 2026 event was hosted by Emmy-winning ABC7 journalist Bianca Buono. The theme was Golden Horizon: Where Intention Meets Impact — reflecting the role of purposeful strategy in creating meaningful change.

The HB Elks Lodge team helped us take out our snowflakes in preparation for this year’s Light a Light of Love event! @waymakersoc is bringing two prevention teams to THRIVE, both from their PATH program.

Youth Substance Use Prevention — educating parents and teens about the risks of alcohol and other drug use, building refusal and media literacy skills across North Orange County.

California Tobacco Prevention Project — secondhand smoke, quitting support, and smoke-free communities in Huntington Beach.

Thank you to everyone who braved the heat and joined us Saturday to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Orange County Family Justice Center!

For two decades, the @ocfjcfoundation has been a place where victims and families impacted by domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and elder abuse can access law enforcement, advocacy, support, and resources under one roof.

This milestone reminds us of why this work matters and the impact that can be made when community partners work together to support victims and families.

A special thank you to our community partners who support Saturday’s celebration, along with the OCFJC Foundation Board and Anaheim PD personnel who dedicated their time and effort to make this event possible!

Hi cuties 🤍 I’m Savanah, the girl behind OC Cuties and I wanted to share something a little more personal today.

The news coming out of Cornell has been sitting really heavy with me. More than anything, I want every woman in this community to feel safe, cared for, and supported, at OC Cuties events and in everyday life.

Sexual violence affects far too many women, and I know there may be girls in this community who have experienced something similar. Whether you have or you’re simply feeling shaken by the news, I want you to know this: I believe you. I support you. I see you. You never have to share your story publicly to deserve care and support.

OC Cuties will always be about making friends, trying fun things, and creating sweet memories together but it will also be about women showing up for women and looking out for one another.

At any hosted OC Cuties event, if you ever feel uncomfortable or need help stepping away from a situation, please find me or one of our hosts. We are here to help you get somewhere you feel more comfortable.

Sometimes, creating lasting memories starts with a few wooden planks, some paint, and a community ready to help. 🏠

Yesterday, the Westcliff University community partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build and decorate a playhouse for the children at Waymakers’ Tustin Youth Shelter.

Volunteers spent the day assembling walls, painting, and filling the playhouse with colorful artwork.
Watching it come together was special, but seeing the children’s faces light up when it arrived at the shelter was a moment we won’t forget.

Thank you to everyone who shared their time, creativity, and energy. This little playhouse will create a safe space for imagination, laughter, and countless happy memories for years to come.

Here’s to continuing to connect, care, and make a lasting impact together. 💙
