Across Orange County, Waymakers provides crisis support, compassionate guidance and critical resources to help individuals, youth and families move from crisis toward strength and stability.

Our programs and services include:

• Operating three Orange County youth shelters that provide safe housing, counseling, education and life-skills support
• Supporting victims of crime through crisis intervention, advocacy, court assistance and emergency services
• Helping families navigate conflict and rebuild stronger relationships
• Redirecting youth toward healthier, more positive futures
• Providing 24-hour crisis response for survivors of human trafficking
• Operating Orange County’s only 24-hour rape crisis hotline and providing hospital accompaniment for survivors of sexual assault
• Educating communities about violence prevention, substance use, human trafficking and healthy youth development
• Helping individuals and families resolve conflict through community mediation

Different programs. Different challenges. One shared purpose: helping people find safety, healing and a path forward.

Thank you to @csuftitanhealth for inviting the Waymakers Sexual Assault Victim Services team to participate in the Titans Healing Together event as we begin Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

We were honored to share resources, educational information, and the Clothesline Project, a powerful visual display created to raise awareness about the impact of violence. Each shirt is designed by a survivor or by someone honoring the memory of a loved one affected by violence. The different shirt colors represent various forms of violence and serve as a testament to the strength, resilience, and stories of those impacted.

Events like this help foster awareness, encourage connection and support, and remind survivors that they are not alone. By creating space for education, healing, and access to resources, we can work together to build safer and more compassionate communities.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Huntington Beach Elks Lodge #1959!

We are so grateful for your incredible support this past Wednesday!

The HB Elks Lodge team helped us take out our snowflakes in preparation for this year’s Light a Light of Love event! We’re excited to begin preparing for another special season of love, hope, and community. Snowflake sponsorship opportunities are still available (see link in bio)! Stay tuned for more details about this year’s children's parade and our special Snowflake Lighting Ceremony!

HB Elks Lodge also brought a freezer FULL of ice cream for our youth and staff to enjoy — with unlimited treats for everyone! And that’s not all! The HB Elks Lodge generously donated much-needed household items from our wishlist, helping us continue to provide a supportive and caring environment for our youth.

@waymakersoc is bringing two prevention teams to THRIVE, both from their PATH program.

Youth Substance Use Prevention — educating parents and teens about the risks of alcohol and other drug use, building refusal and media literacy skills across North Orange County.

California Tobacco Prevention Project — secondhand smoke, quitting support, and smoke-free communities in Huntington Beach.

Our Waymakers Victim Witness Assistance Program team at the Central Justice Center is ready to take on the day in their new Waymakers zip-ups and cardigans, with their offices decked out for Halloween.

We’re grateful for the dedicated people who show up every day to support victims and witnesses as they navigate difficult moments and find their way toward strength and stability.

Celebrating 20 years of community, collaboration, and support!

Waymakers’ Sexual Assault Victim Services team was honored to join the Orange County Family Justice Center for their 20th Anniversary celebration this past Saturday!

For two decades, the Orange County Family Justice Center has brought together law enforcement, victim advocates, social services, and community partners under one roof to help individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, elder abuse, and other forms of violence access the support and resources they need.

As a partner providing victim advocacy services at the Family Justice Center, we are proud to be part of this collaborative community.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, braved the heat, and celebrated with us! We had such a great time connecting with community members, meeting new faces, and celebrating the people and partnerships that make this work possible.

Here’s to 20 years of the Orange County Family Justice Center and many more years of working together to build safer, stronger communities!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜

Domestic violence can affect people of every age, background, and circumstance. This month and every month, Waymakers stands with survivors, raises awareness, and works to build safer communities where everyone can live free from violence and abuse.

How can you help?

💜 Educate Yourself — Learn the signs of domestic violence and how to safely support someone experiencing abuse.

💜 Share Resources — Help connect survivors and those who care about them with trusted domestic violence support services and resources.

💜 Support Local Organizations — Volunteer, donate, or partner with organizations working to prevent domestic violence and support survivors.

💜 Listen Without Judgment — Sometimes, the most important thing you can offer is compassion, understanding, and a safe space to be heard.

💜 Promote Healthy Relationships — Encourage respect, equality, healthy communication, and relationships free from fear and control.

💜 Use Your Voice — Challenge the stigma surrounding domestic violence and advocate for safer, stronger communities.

Ending domestic violence takes all of us. By learning, listening, speaking up, and supporting survivors, we can help break the silence and create a future free from violence.
