Congratulations to these IRON GUARDS who conquered the Ironman 70.3 this past weekend! The lifeguarding season may be over, but the dedication to staying strong and pushing limits continues year-round. Congratulations on an outstanding achievement! 👏

At approximately 8:30 a.m. Thursday, October 1, Wrightsville Beach Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire, with assistance from Wilmington Fire Department. Thankfully, everyone involved made it out safely, and there were no reported injuries. Thank you to everyone who responded to this call and worked together to keep everyone safe. Our thoughts are with the residents affected by the fire. @townofwrightsvillebeach @wilmingtonfire @wb_oceanrescue 📸 @keith.nelson0321 As the call was unfolding, three of our WBOR guards who also serve as firefighters with WBFD were out fishing when they spotted the smoke. They immediately raced their boat back to shore, and two swam in to assist. 📸 @keith.nelson0321 Once on scene, the two Guards/FFs took over the water pump on Truck 81 and manually pulled 120 feet of hose to assist with water flow. They remained on the pump for the duration of the fire, freeing up an additional firefighter in full turnout gear to assist in the “hot zone.” Their quick thinking and willingness to jump in wherever needed made a direct difference on scene. 📸 @townofwrightsvillebeach Our Ocean Rescue and Fire Rescue roles cross over every day, and that shared training allows our members to step into whatever role is needed when the situation calls for it. Hello 👋! I’m Kristi! And this picture is me in a nutshell 😂. I love fossils, bikinis, and ocean lifeguarding. My full time job for @jolynclothing brings me traveling up and down the east coast which has allowed me to explore many fossil locales ! We make THE BEST swimwear for athletes and water loving ladies, and it is the only brand I wear for all of my adventures 👙 I also work for @wb_oceanrescue and compete with @wbor_comp team at surf racing events across the country! It’s a niche sport but has a very passionate and dedicated community 🫶 lifeguarding helped me fall in love with the ocean and our coastline, and gave me confidence in and around the water. I love to surf, dive, paddle, explore, and travel ✈️🌎! I may have a dopamine addiction 😅. Also a touch of Peter Pan syndrome 😅😂. I’ve got a cat named Sunny who this page is lovingly named after 🐈, and a Frenchie named after a Nicaraguan Beer (Toña). I love the outdoors and the adventures that come with it. Fossil hunting checks all of the boxes for me and sharing it with you guys has been a really fun journey! So Thank you for following along 💫🤿🦈! I appreciate being able to nerd out with you all 🫶.
