2 years ago our world changed. And it took me months to wipe the feeling of - this is too good to be true.

After many months of actively trying to fall pregnant (after a few years of the, if it happens it happens attitude) in September 2024 we decided to see a specialist and discuss our options. Following the appointment where we discussed; IVF and IUI we ended up booking in a surgery for me to investigate and remove possible endometriosis.

Fast forward a few weeks I remember experiencing terrible pain in my boobs, and after talking through it with Will, he suggested I take a pregnancy test.

But I was not prepared for the possibility of another negative test after several close calls. Those who know this feeling just get it.

So I dragged it out, waiting a little longer until a few more symptoms came up. Then at about 5am I decided to brace myself for it. But it’s not at all what I expected to see. I sat there in the bathroom for about 30mins thinking how the hell am I going to tell Will.

He probably won’t believe me and think it’s a fake (which he thought was too faint). So after this video, I went to the chemist and bought the most expensive test just to be sure!

So instead I called the specialist and changed what would have been my surgery date the next week, to a dating and heart beat check up. That’s when we first saw our little peanut.

But it’s crazy how your world can completely change in a single moment.

1 years ago I tore my quad squatting 250kg x 3

My first real major injury in 10 years powerlifting.

Now I cut 12.5kg and I can barely squat 150kg.

It feels like shit, feel heavy, I hate it.

I could give up on it, I could make excuse or could do what I need to do to squat the 300kg I’ve always dreamed of.

The choice always yours I choose the hard road.

An epic return to the platform for @larnahmlowe ! Going 9/9 at the Police and Emergency Services Games and snagging third overall and second in her weight class.

Larnah has worked so damn hard to get herself back to the platform after dealing with a back injury earlier this year. After months of
perseverance and focusing on what was within her control when it came to training, rehab and nutrition she’s walked away with a day to be proud of 🙌

We love to see you back out there, lifting heavy and having a damn good time 🔥

APL Nationals 2026 recap

This was a very meaningful competition for me. It marked My 10th year in the sport, with my 10th competition. To celebrate that milestone with a 1st place finish in the 110kg class and 2nd overall was very unexpected but very welcome.

Squat: 260/270 - 10kg Sleeve PB
Bench: 190/x200/x200
Deadlift: 310/x330/330 - Equal Comp PB
Total: 790kg - 15kg sleeve PB

I've been extremely fortunate to learn from some of the best over the years. Having people you trust behind you to guide you is invaluable and I wouldn't have stuck to it this long if it wasn't for Jordo. He scraped me off the Ground ZeroW gym floor around 2020-2021, fixed me up and helped me from a 687.5kg total to 802.5kg total in a very small window of time. Instilling in me programming principals, the importance of long term planning and an eye for detail. You're THE best, and I miss you. Thank you.

Thank you to Will at nexus performance for the chats and guidance, and Thomas at Zerow for your endless support, and expertise over the last 10 years. Thomas got me to my first competition way back in 2016 after a chance encounter with Joshua Wiseman at fitness first in 2015 recommending me to try powerlifting. Ground ZeroW was the catalyst for my journey, meeting some amazing people - Far too many to name, but you know who you are (probably).

Last but not least, thank you to my training partner Thom for putting up with me, pushing me to be my best and gassing me up always. Thank you Ali for all your support and guidance. I could not have got through this prep without you guys and it would have been a very different day without you guys by my side. And my long lost love Luke Basile, my GOAT.

I carried a bunch of injuries into this prep which almost called an end to the comp for me on 2-3 occasions. Strained adductor (12 Weeks out), Torn Pec (8 Weeks out), and Stomach bug (6 weeks out). Training was absolutely flying before hand, which was very hard to come to terms with at the time. Knowing I wasn't going to be in a position to put up my best was tough. Reflecting on it all now, I'm a lot more optimistic about the next few comps and my journey going forward.

Pretty handsome transformations from @finleyorphin.snpc who absolutely nailed this cut.

Over 10kg dropped in 12 weeks, to make a total of 13kg lost since we started working together in January.

Finley has been working with @wcroz for 2 years online now and started his nutrition with me in Jan 2026

We started out with a big focus on improving digestion, consistent calorie uptake and big goals with performance given he was 12 weeks out from his competition in April.

Following that he enjoyed some balanced social eating while travelling in Japan and came back locked in and ready to get lean.

This cut presented with no major hurdles except management of increased food noise, which it to be expected. We set up some strategies to help him overcome the classic discomfort of hunger and am incredibly proud of how he conducted himself.

The goal now is to maintain a comfortable level of conditioning whilst putting a bigger emphasis on performance again.

But unlike most commons fears people have while dieting, Finley’s strength and performance was minimally impacted over the duration, only starting to notice increased fatigue towards the tail end of the cut.
