To My Young Ones🌱:

O V E R J O Y E D ☀️
The work that I do can often be
emotionally challenging + taxing to my spirit. However, when you are called to PURPOSE, part of the task of your soul is your ability to process the feelings of exhaustion, tiredness, and being ready to throw in the towel - and not be moved to do so.

Life can be hard, so feeling those feelings, and not staying stuck can seem extremely grueling and difficult.. But, nope, GOD GOT YOU! Move a Muscle, Change a Thought, GOD in his infinite wisdom has given us a multitude of examples of the Glory & Results that await us on the other side...we may not see it immediately, but in those moments of hopelessness it is critical for us to REMEMBER to NOT GIVE UP and have the "Faith of a mustard seed... (with the belief that) nothing will be impossible." Matthew 17:20 🙏🏿

Today, I am processing and reflecting upon all of the wonderful people and events that have occurred in my life and thinking about my FAITH when everything in front of me told me to GIVE UP. I took the time to say I REBUKE those thoughts and when I had no answers I just listened to the whispers in my body & soul, and prioritized my well-being because that's what spoke most loudly. I took the necessary time to heal, rest and rejuvenate.

HEALING & REJUVENATION 🌺 is a Necessity ~ not a luxury. It is something we should all consciously do for ourselves. For me, after flying all around the planet over the last 6 months, it is spending quiet, reflective time to clear my mind and refocus in Nature ~ Warm Weather, Sunrises, Trees, Sunsets, Journaling & Listening to Soothing Music.
🌴 📝 🌊 ☀️ 🎶
My Happy Place!
These things provide a sanctuary that is necessary to my soul.

I encourage you too, to find your sanctuary. It will reinvigorate & rejuvenate your spirit, your process, your life.

I Promise. You'll Thank Me Later 🌍

Every October #SeeUsSupportUs spreads awareness about children of incarcerated parents. We hold events, share tips, provide support, and more! This year we focus on supporting children whose parents are returning to the community after incarceration.

During week one, we invite everyone to consider the reentry of a parent from a child's point of view.

Anytime I have the opportunity I’m going to provide the true complexities of Mass Incarceration and what it does to families and communities. I’m not always tapped to participate, I don’t always get the invites but when I do trust and believe I’m going to deliver for those of us that have been through the fire . I have had so many traumatic experiences during my Fathers incarceration.

Having an incarcerated parent can be one of the most traumatic experiences for a child and it increases the likelihood that those children will experience other adverse childhood issues .

I hope that we can do more to support children with incarcerated parents throughout our country, with family reunification being one of the primary things .

I hope the Federal Bureau of Prisons will provide a video visiting option for those far away , but NEVER recommend video visiting as a replacement for in person visiting . I hope that one day incarcerated parents will be able to video visit with their children’s teachers , coaches , and doctors . We should be doing everything we can to keep that parent engaged in that child’s life . We should also clear the path when that parent returns in hopes that they will never leave again .
