“You won’t get a look at the entire Hacienda through a photograph,” said architect Jorge Yulo of his design for the Hacienda Community Center in Laguna, the setting for yesterday’s Kanto Intersections with Kohler. “The space is meant for you to wander in. Pause, absorb every detail.”

Attendees did just that. Alongside a guided tour by Yulo himself, they were invited to experience the Hacienda through a series of wellness sessions: a sound bath by the pool with Sphaera Lucis, bespoke reed diffuser-making and a micro spa nook care of The Aroma Assembly, and vibrant plant-based fare from Habits by Mia Sison. These experiences were open all afternoon, allowing guests to move through the space—and the day—at their own rhythm.

Represented at the design retreat were Alt+38 Design Studio, BAAD Studio, Commonsense Studio, DesignHQ, Hurray Design, InnovArc Design & Construction, JJA Bespoke, Jorge Yulo Architects and Associates, Leandro V. Locsin Partners, PXP Design Workshop, and Studio Ong.

Kohler Philippines Marketing Head Kimi Abapo noted that the collaboration marked a first between Kanto and Kohler. “We want to introduce our growth not just as a maker of products, but as a maker of experiences. We hope that this event will not be the last!”
