🍝 NEW ITALIAN RESTAURANT OPENS IN DILWORTH: Handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza and Roman-inspired flavors have arrived in Charlotte.

Ardente: Roman Kitchen & Market (@ardentekitchen) opened June 24 at the former Capiche space on Morehead Street, brought to life by co-owners Madison and Raffaele Patrizi of Mano Bella Artisan Foods (@manobellaartisanfoods).

The 5,200-square-foot space draws on the family-run trattorias of Rome, promising approachable Italian cuisine made with locally-sourced ingredients.

Expect organic handmade pasta, meats cooked over open fire, pizzas and scratch-made sauces — plus a market stocked with prepared foods and imported pantry staples.

The eatery also offers weekly specials and family-style meals.

🌶️ NEW MEXICAN RESTAURANT: Raíces (@raicesclt) will bring elevated Mexican cuisine and agave-forward cocktails to The RailYard South End this summer.

Husband-and-wife duo Alfonso Bravo and Amalia Macias are behind the concept, drawing on their family roots from Jalisco state, Mexico.

The couple also owns several restaurants in South Carolina, including Salud Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Lounge (@salud_tequilabar) and Coa Agaveria Y Cocina (@coa_agaveria).

The menu, led by Chef TJ Steele, will feature refined takes on traditional dishes with elevated small plates, generational moles, pozole, and handmade tortillas made with locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant will also pull inspiration from Oaxaca’s rich culinary traditions.

Mixologist Edson Sanchez will head up the agave-focused cocktail program.
