♻️💚 One of the biggest beliefs about #tshirts is that they are only good to lounge around the house in but Camille from @WearEmOutTees shows you how you can style them for events even beyond that! By adding just a few pieces that you have in your own wardrobe, you can elevate any of the WearEmOut Tees any day of the week. Studies show that as a society, we only wear our clothes about 8 times on average before discarding them.  You and I both know that clothes deserve so much more use than we give them, which is why she takes perfectly great tees, adds graphics that speak to #sustainability #slowfashion and protecting #MotherEarth and gets them back out in the economy. If that’s something that you also support, give her page a follow and take advantage of this special discount she’s offering to my followers of 30% off your entire purchase from her website using code BIZBESTIE30 and hurry, this code expires at midnight on Friday. #SlowFashionista #EcoWarrior #EcoFashionista #ClimateWarrior #UpcycledTShirt #UpcycledTees #UpcycledTShirts #EcoTees #EcoGraphicTees #EcoTshirts #EcoGraphicTshirt #SustainableTees #SustainableGraphicTees #EarthDayTees #EarthDayTshirts #EarthMonthTees #EarthMonthGraphicTees

🌍✨ This week, I wanted to highlight another #SmallBusiness - one that I absolutely adore and I’m sure you will too! Friends, let me introduce you - Meet the Bestie Behind the Brand! This is my good friend Camille with @WearEmOutTees - a pre-loved t-shirt brand. Camille rescues t-shirts that are still in great condition from heading to the #landfill and adds original graphics on them. 🌿♻️ She believes that one of the simplest things we can do for the planet is to stop buying clothes from fast fashion brands and instead wear what has already been produced in order to avoid supporting brands that don’t provide people who make their clothes safe working conditions and brands that use Earth’s precious resources in excess. Please show her some love and give her page a follow. During this week - and this week only, she’s offering you a special discount to use on her website for 30% off your entire purchase with code: BIZBESTIE30 Please drop a greeting for Camille in the comments. 🥰

Much like women, the Earth does not need saving, she is fully capable of taking care of herself. However, like women, she needs to be nurtured, respected, given the space to create and to change. Like women, this epically beautiful planet has cycles, full of moments of decline and regeneration…happening in an infinite loop of death and rebirth. I used to think that this place needed saving. That my work and mission meant that it was my role was to save the planet. When, in truth, much like women, this planet never asked me to save her, all she ever asked was for my respect. Talk about white saviorism and this patriarchal mindset of looking externally for a “savior.” Spoiler, no one is coming to save us. Not an activist, not a partner and certainly not a politician. We are the ones that will save us. But perhaps that isn’t the narrative I align with anymore. This concept of saviorism. Looking outside ourselves for a reprieve from the burdens that the world places on us is a fruitless journey and capitalism depends on it. Capitalism, in this country and most of the western world, provides us with both the problem and the false solution (things like, retail therapy and this keeping up with the Jones’ mentality). It places competition over community and views anything less than hyper individuality as a weakness. But all of that is out of alignment with our truth and our nature. Because we are nature. We, too, have cycles of death and rebirth. And since we are nature, since we are cosmically and physically intertwined with mama Earth…instead of looking outside for the answer or the savior, perhaps it is well past time we turn our gaze inward and “save” ourselves so that we reflect outward the beauty that comes from deep understanding. I believe that on some level we all choose to show up here. At this moment in time. This dumpster fire of a timeline…the only thing left for us to do is figure out why. Our why leads to our “how.” For me, that is sustainable fashion in all her forms and the intersectionality of all that we do and how we move through our unique lives and uplift the community as we do.
