There isn’t anything too fancy, just making sure we hit some mobility, improve our speed and explosiveness, improve strength and power, improve strength and stability through a full range of motion, and hit some conditioning without overloading and crushing the nervous system so close to the start of camp.

The goal is to feel strong, mobile, quick, powerful, and most importantly fresh heading into a long season.

With the season just starting, if you’re a youth or junior hockey player who wants to gain strength, power, and speed on the ice this season click the link in the bio to work with me in person or virtual

Life isn’t always even (in more ways than one). Make sure to train for it.

While major compound movements like squats and deadlifts make up the bulk of our strength training, single sided exercises help us training balance, stability, and coordination.

Both of these things combined give adults the strength and ability needed to perform everyday task like carry bags of groceries and pick things up off the ground.

Here’s 5 of our go to lower body strength exercises for adults. Nothing fancy here.

These 5 exercises and variations/ progressions of them make up the meat and potatoes of our lower body strength training with our adult clients.

While social media is filled with eye wash and the “greatest new hack”, the things that actually make the difference are the basics. People have been doing these exercises for decades and will be doing them decades into the future.

Something I hear often is “I don’t know if I have the time right now” when it comes to training

Did you know that all it takes to increase your strength, balance, and movement quality is 2 one hour sessions per week. Add in the time to get ready and travel to the gym and you’re looking at maybe 4 hours tops.

Now do me a favor. Go to your settings on your phone and look at your screen time breakdown…

I don’t say this to scold people, but at some point we have to be honest with ourselves.

Life is hard. You’re busy. You have jobs, families, household task, hobbies, and a slew of other activities that take up your time.

However, almost everyone is able to make time for something that will greatly impact their quality of life if they want to.

It just requires sacrifice. Sacrifice a few episodes of that show per week, a few hours of doom scrolling, a few hours in that addicting app you downloaded and can’t stop playing.

The best time to start was yesterday, the second best time is now. Your future self will thank you.

Sharing Client Wins!!!

A big goal of our training is helping you be strong FOR LIFE. It is great to see the effects of someone’s hard work benefitting their health.

Bone density is a huge health factor for women as they age and strength training is a great way to counteract it. Due to hormonal differences, women lose bone density as they age at a significantly higher rate than men.

That is why it is important to see results like this. For a woman over the age of 50, bone density staying at a consistent level over time instead of decreasing is a win. Actually gaining bone density, especially over 13%, is a MASSIVE win!
