Recently, I heard Donald Trump describe Autism as a “tremendous horror show.” As the Board Chair of RiteCare of Utah—and more importantly, as someone who has seen firsthand the brilliance, resilience, and joy of children and families in the disability community—I cannot stay silent.
Autism is not a horror show. Autism is a different way of experiencing and interacting with the world. With the right supports, encouragement, and opportunities, individuals with Autism and other developmental differences can—and do—achieve incredible things.
At RiteCare of Utah, we are privileged to work with children who grow into young adults who thrive in school, careers, and community life. Their journeys are filled with hard work, courage, and success. What they need is respect, acceptance, and access to services—not stigma.
Words matter. When we use them carelessly or cruelly, they perpetuate barriers and reinforce harmful stereotypes. Let’s instead choose words that uplift, empower, and reflect the potential we see every day.
To the families we serve: we see you, we support you, and we celebrate every milestone. To the broader community: let’s continue to advocate for inclusion, dignity, and opportunity for all. Autism is not a “horror show.” It is a part of the rich diversity of the human experience.

Congratulations, Michael, on this well-deserved recognition. Your presence in the music and dance documentary “Moving Together” not only honors your talent but also serves as a reminder of the beauty that can emerge when music and dance move together in perfect harmony.

I am privileged to call you a friend, and I look forward to witnessing the continued brilliance of your artistic journey. Keep it up! 🤝🙌🔥💯🙏

Maquel Memes Day #2!—Listen, I spent a bunch of time lifting memes from Kelli’s page last night. After an hour and about 150 screenshots I looked at the date-range I was taking memes from. It was December. She posted her last meme in January. 😯

I had gotten through one month, y’all. ONE MONTH.

This is going to be a much larger undertaking than I imagined. But it also helped heal my heart and made me laugh and helped me to get to know my little sister. Some were heartbreaking—like one that talked about the privilege of growing old, which she had no idea she would never get to do💔. But mostly they allowed me to awww at lots of otter content (not sure if that was a recent obsession of that will run throughout—excited to see!) and, more importantly, laugh very hard at some real humdingers.

These ten were a random-seeming assemblage. They were some of the last ones she ever posted—all during her final days.

I hope you enjoy them like I did! (The last one’s my fave.)

This years retreat was SO good. Really grateful for all the women who help make this weekend a possibility. Also grateful for all the women we get to connect & heal with. I think about doing two retreats every year. Who thinks we should do another one in spring? 👇🏻 let me know your thoughts. ✨💜
