Crypto prices may be down, but adoption of the underlying technology is happening at a rapid pace. 10 days of meetings between Guyana and NYC just confirmed we're on the right track.

Wealth generation isn't just about ambition, it's about access. And in a world where opportunities move fast, falling behind is easier than ever if you don't have the right tools and connections.

At the Global Growth & Commerce Summit, Co-Founder Sesh Sukhdeo opened the conversation by reminding attendees that technology has leveled the playing field, giving everyone a real shot at opportunities that once felt out of reach.

Building on that idea, Rosalinda Rasul, Head of the Diaspora Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, laid out three guiding principles for the session, and for anyone serious about building wealth:

✅ The right conversations: Surround yourself with dialogue that pushes you toward growth, not just small talk.

✅ The right people: Your network can open (or close) doors. Choose connections that align with your goals.

✅ The right interests: Passion and purpose fuel sustainable success. Know what truly drives you.

Together, Sesh and Rosalinda set the stage for a powerful afternoon of insight at the Summit, offering a simple but effective framework anyone can apply to their own path toward financial growth and opportunity.

At the recent Global Growth and Commerce Summit, Venture for Guyana hosted a high-caliber masterclass in openness, interactivity, and forward-thinking. A standout element of the event was the panel discussion, which brought together diverse perspectives to address the critical path for Guyana’s rapid economic evolution.

We were honored to hear from a powerhouse lineup of industry leaders:

Kris Sammy (CEO & Chairman, Excel Guyana): Shared vital lessons learned along the Excel growth trajectory, emphasizing the importance of developing internal leadership and leveraging international experience to engage effectively with investors and growth markets.

Kristine Thompson (CEO, Rise Guyana): Highlighted the critical need for an enhanced understanding of systems to ensure efficient investment flows, noting that high-impact opportunities are abundant across every single sector.

Arun Venkataraman (Former Head, U.S. Foreign Commercial Service): Provided a global perspective on the shifts taking place in trade and commerce, stressing that agility is the most essential trait for modern businesses.

Liz Atherly (Investment Professional): Drawing on her extensive experience with Swiss family wealth investment firms, she shared key insights into the growth ecosystem and the necessity for enhanced readiness to engage with international investors across the health, real estate, and technology sectors.

Chandroutie Budram (Marketing Manager, MMG): Shared the inspiring story of how MMG started small and leveraged innovation to enhance financial services for thousands of users in Guyana.

This event was a perfect reflection of the mission of Venture for Guyana (VFG). By bridging the gap between global investors, strategic partners, and local stakeholders, VFG is creating the ecosystem required for long-term competitiveness. Their work in transforming economic acceleration into investable, scalable ventures, from energy and infrastructure to emerging sectors, is essential to Guyana's growth story.

Insights from the Global Growth and Commerce Summit.

The momentum from the Global Growth and Commerce Summit is still being felt across Georgetown. It was a privilege to hear from Gerry Gouveia, who challenged us to look at commerce through a wider lens, not as a single track, but as a multi-faceted engine driving our nation forward.

Mr. Gouveia’s message to the private sector was clear and urgent: to keep pace with the current speed of change, we must innovate across the board.

We are on a growth trajectory that is truly beyond imagination. Mr. Gouveia drew a compelling parallel to Dubai’s evolution from a fishing town to a global hub, illustrating the massive scale of possibility awaiting us here in Guyana.

True transformation won’t happen in isolation. We need businesses across every single sector to lean in, engage, and take ownership of the opportunities unfolding before us.

We need leaders who can think at scale, adapt to rapid change, and foster the collaborative environments necessary to sustain this momentum.

This summit stood out for its unique energy, with Mr. Gouveia specifically highlighting the exemplary level of knowledge sharing and investor engagement.

A sincere thank you to our hosts, Weggon Allen and Sesh Sukhdeo, for curating an experience that sets a new standard for business gatherings in Guyana. We look forward to our continued collaboration with Venture for Guyana as we build this future together.

Which sector do you believe holds the most untapped potential for transformative growth in Guyana over the next five years?

Highlights from the Global Growth and Commerce Summit.

We were honored to participate in the Global Growth and Commerce Summit this past Thursday in Georgetown. A sincere thank you to our hosts, @weggonallen and @seshsukhdeo, for curating a platform that perfectly balanced innovation with actionable collaboration.

The event brought together an impressive mix of investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders, proving that when the right people share the right conversations, real traction follows.

A standout moment was hearing from Rosalinda Rasul, Head of the Diaspora Affairs Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who provided a compelling roadmap for the Diaspora’s role in our collective growth.

Ideas alone are not enough. Ms. Rasul emphasized the necessity of in-depth assessments, highlighting that the private sector has a vital opportunity to lead in this transformation.

True progress is not merely about capital; it is about cultivating the right connections and fostering the nuanced conversations that drive sustainable success.

The summit was a masterclass in collaboration. By bridging the gap between the Diaspora and local industry, we are building a community that is better equipped for long-term development.

Closing the session, Ms. Rasul commended the event’s design, noting that the quality of insights, the direct investor feedback, and the professional development achieved in just four hours were truly exemplary.

We are excited to see how these conversations evolve into lasting partnerships.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this high-impact session.
