The Institute realizes there’s a widespread issue — there is not enough research or resources that supports adolescents and allows them to thrive at their full potential.

IAMH exists to address this problem by turning research into real-world solutions to support adolescents and young adults during such a critical period in their lives.

What makes IAMH so special? Our unique interdisciplinary approach to adolescent mental health and well-being research.

Our Institute leaders, fellows, affiliates, trainees, and staff represent a wide range of departments across several of Northwestern’s undergraduate and graduate schools, including Psychology, Anthropology, Mechanical Engineering, Management and Marketing, Medical Social Sciences, Human Development, Education, and Social Policy.

By bringing together perspectives from across disciplines, we work toward a deeper understanding of adolescent mental health and well-being.
