SCG would like to spotlight the afternoon plenary session from our 2026 Annual Conference, Renewing Our Purpose! The afternoon plenary, "Renewing Our Vision for the Future," highlighted the critical lessons our sector has learned during this period and where we can pivot and shift tactics. Our speakers — Chet Hewitt (Sierra Health Foundation), Joanna S. Jackson (@weingartfoundation), Angélica Salas (@chirla_org), and LaShawn Warren (@splcenter) — discussed how philanthropy can align on a coordinated strategy to protect our freedoms, communities, and sector from ongoing political and reputational threats. They shared honest perspectives and insights on how we can reinvigorate our sense of purpose and set a clear vision for our future. 📸 Photos by Celia Dueñas (@amorylunaphoto). #SCGRenewingOurPurpose #Conference #Philanthropy #SCGEvents Group photo of closing plenary speakers

Small steps. Big Changes. Nobody needs a perfect diet in pregnancy. You need food you can actually reach for. Start here: Add protein to every meal or snack: eggs, yogurt, beans, nuts, chicken, or fish Ask your provider about iron and your prenatal vitamin Sip water all day and keep a bottle by your bed Feeling sick? Small snacks often, ginger, crackers, or cold foods can help The full food guide and the “Know Your Body” page are inside Rooted & Ready, my free toolkit. Link in bio. Your one step today: put one protein snack where you can grab it. Then send this to a friend who is pregnant. 🤎 You can’t talk about better outcomes without understanding the full picture first.
