POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Here are some scenes from a potentially haunted mansion and a party spent In Good Company. Last week, all of @carolynrafaelian's brands, including @andlivy @sakonnetwine @mtlalchemist and @barandboardbistro collided at a special event at an historic Newport mansion @belcourtofnewport. The home is a history buff's dream. The mansion -- more like castle -- was commissioned between 1891 and 1895 by Oliver Hazard Perry Belmont, whose father founded the Belmont Stakes. Richard Morris Hunt designed it to accommodate Belmont's many horses and coaches, supposedly modeling it after the hunting lodge of Versailles built for King Louis XIII of France.

Belmont married suffragist Alva Vanderbilt and gifted the house (which only had one bedroom in it at the time, talk about the ultimate bachelor pad, where all the toys took top priority.) Alva had previously designed Marble House @newport.mansions and put her own touches on Belcourt's spaces to make the home more suitable for entertaining balls and lavish parties, much like this one. After Oliver died, the house passed through several different owners before becoming the Tinney residence. It was filled with antiques and reproductions, like an Imperial Russian chandelier. Carolyn Rafaelian purchased the mansion in 2012 and renovated it over the last decade to make it what it is today.

This event, In Good Company, included a brief history tour by @dpbettencourt who shared some of mansion's haunted stories and artifacts in the ballroom. Then we all got to create personalized charm necklaces from the @mtlachemist line in Alva's bedroom. There were @andlivy bracelets displayed throughout the numerous rooms, as well as place settings and entertaining tablescapes in the dining room, including more product lines. We sipped @sakonnetwine and enjoyed food from @barandboardbistro. It was a wonderful night that set the tone for Halloween with all the spooky stories in between. Equally as scary was trying to get our car out of the parking lot after it was blocked in with no owner in sight! 🤣 But we found the ultimate hero in @misspetitepilates' brother @weinorama, who managed to carefully maneuver my friend @tingbarnard_'s car out!

The Wiener Standard, since 1962.

Since ‘62, this Oaklawn Ave counter has been the argument-settler for Rhode Island hot weiners. Small snappy dogs, steamed buns, homemade meat sauce that people have been trying to reverse-engineer for six decades. The place changed hands a few years back and the new owners didn’t touch a single recipe — the most Rhode Island thing that could’ve possibly happened. Sign’s back up and lit. Celery salt still hits.

The order: three all the way (meat sauce, mustard, onion, celery salt), fries, and a coffee milk because you’re a guest here and you should act like it.

Sixty-plus years and nobody’s asked them to change a thing. 🌭

Hot wieners are a Rhode Island staple - not to be confused with hot dogs. Every place has their own history and loyal customers, but everyone agrees wieners should be ordered “all the way,” with mustard, meat sauce, onions and celery salt. Link to the full video in my bio. Thanks to everyone who participated!
